Is your partner a Man City fan? They might be cheating on you

The key findings

* Manchester City fans have been declared the biggest love rats
* Newcastle fans are the most faithful among the Premier League teams
* 79% of people are spurred on to cheat by their football team winning a match
* The findings come from IllicitEncounters.com, the UK’s largest extramarital dating site

When it comes to football, the discussion about the GOAT is a continuous debate, but the UK’s largest married dating site, IllicitEncounters.com, has found the GOAT in the world of cheating: Manchester City fans.

The poll conducted by the website asked 2000 members which team they support, with Manchester City fans topping the league with 39% of the vote.

Arsenal fans came second in the list of biggest football fan cheats with 22%. Much like their position in the league, they haven’t quite managed to make it to the top.

If your partner supports Newcastle, on the other hand, you can rest easy as they’ve been declared the most faithful with just 2% of the vote.

In a second poll, the same pool of members was asked which match result made them more likely to message their mistress. Team triumphs were the biggest factor for contacting a secret lover with a notable 79%. If your partner’s team draws, there’s far less cause for concern, with just 2% spurred on to reach out to their fling.

Oliver, a member of Illicitencounters.com, said, “I’m a Cityzen through and through. I’ll be honest, when City got through to the semi-finals of the Champions League I went absolutely nuts. A lot of guys will be able to relate – the rush you get when your team scores is something else, let alone when they win. It’s like I’m on cloud nine, so reality just flies out the window. When I’m on a winning high, that’s when I get that YOLO feeling and get in touch with my mistress. The wife doesn’t notice because she just thinks I’m in the lads group chat celebrating. It literally is a win-win.”

Another user of the site, Noah, commented “Winning is like a drug: once you get a taste of it, you can’t stop. That’s exactly how I feel about having a secret relationship outside of my marriage. Every time the Gunners win it’s like an out-of-body experience. With that much adrenaline pumping around my body I need a release, and that’s when I get really randy.”

Expert comment from Jessica Leoni

Analysing the results of the polls, sex and relationships expert, Jessica Leoni, commented “It’s actually dopamine which sets off that good feeling in your brain after a win, which in turn makes you want to keep experiencing it over and over again. Goals scored in the last minutes of the match can have the biggest effect on football fans – last minute wins give an unparalleled buzz of adrenaline, which explains why so many men are spurred on to cheat afterwards.

Any thoughts about potential consequences are washed away by the thrill of victory. So, if your partner never misses a match, you might want to secretly support the team they’re playing against – just to be on the safe side, otherwise their team might not be the only one scoring that night.”

Royal Flush – Prince Harry voted royal your partner is most likely to fantasise about in bed

The key findings

* 68% of women and 77% of men have fantasised about being intimate with a member of the royal family

* 42% of women admitted to fantasising about Prince Harry while being in bed with their partner

* Kate Middleton voted by 54% of men as the royal they’ve imagined most during ‘sexy time’

* Poll conducted by IllicitEncounters.com, the UK’s largest extramarital dating site

Picture this: you’re in bed with your partner, things are getting steamy, the clothes are off, hearts are racing, but who are they thinking about? A poll conducted by IllicitEncounters.com has found that the person your partner is fantasising about at that moment is likely to be a royal!

The study by the married dating site asked 1000 women and 1000 men if they have ever fantasised about a member of the royal family. The results show it’s more common than you’d think, with 68% of women and 77% of men admitting to having visualised themselves getting steamy with a royal. So, it’s official – power and status are sexy!

Taking the top spot for women with 42% of the vote is ‘bad boy’ Prince Harry. Ditching his royal title and no longer being a working member of the royal family, ‘H’’s rebellion only adds to his attraction. He might be the ‘spare’ to the throne, but his rugged good looks and piercing blue eyes are enough to get the ladies swooning.

The next heir to the throne, Prince William came close second with 33% of women having fantasised about him, followed by King Charles with a regal 13% of the vote. Somewhat less inspiring were Prince Edward (5%), Mike Tindall (3%), Lord Frederick Windsor (2%) and Prince Andrew, with just 1% of ladies picturing themselves in the throes of passion with him.

When it comes to men, Kate Middleton is what dreams are made of, with more than half (54%) of males polled having fantasised about a ‘knight’ with the Princess of Wales. Naturally beautiful, slim figure with a regal smile – it all adds to her allure.

Taking second place with 23% of the vote was Meghan Markle, followed by Princess Eugenie (12%). Surprisingly, model Lady Amelia Windsor had only been fantasised about by 6% of men polled. Zara Tindall (3%) and Princess Beatrice (1%) don’t quite hit the spot for the gents.

One user of the website said “There’s definitely something exciting about the idea of being with a royal – I’ve shamelessly fantasised about Prince Harry more than once. What can I say?! I’m a sucker for a rebellious streak, and he just ticks all my boxes. My husband’s the complete opposite, we’ve been together forever and sometimes my mind needs a bit of stimulation when we’re being intimate, needs must!”

Expert comment from Jessica Leoni

Jessica Leoni, IllicitEncounters.com’s sex and relationship expert comments “It’s not uncommon to fantasise about being with people who hold positions of power – it’s actually a natural phenomenon. Members of the Royal family have the charisma and confidence that many people seek in a partner, not to mention their success, status and wealth. What’s not to love?!

It’s every little girl’s dream to meet their Prince Charming and that doesn’t change when we become adults. Alas, ladies and gents, the probability of being intimate with a royal is royally low, so don’t feel guilty about fantasising about it! We can all do with using our imaginations a bit more in the bedroom, and if thinking about King Charles turns you on, go for it – no one needs to know.”

Fatal Attraction – Cheaters less likely to forgive partner’s infidelity

The key findings

* 78% of people would not forgive their partner if they found out they were being unfaithful

* Poll finds sex, kissing and sexting to be the top three acts considered cheating

* Study released by IllicitEncounters.com, the UK’s largest extramarital dating site

With the release of the new ‘Fatal Attraction’ TV series on Paramount+ on the 1st May, the reboot has led to the topic of infidelity being on everyone’s lips.

The modern reimagining of the cult film tells the story of Dan Gallagher, a man who has a passionate affair with a woman (Alex) whilst the wife (Beth) is away. Admittedly, it all goes a bit pear-shaped, when Alex becomes the original ‘bunny boiler’ in the infamously hare-raising scene and well… you know the rest. Ultimately, though, Dan’s wife forgives the affair.

In stark contrast, a recent poll by IllicitEncounters.com, of 2000 members, found that a massive 78% of people WOULDN’T forgive their partner’s infidelity, despite the fact they themselves are users of the UK’s largest extramarital dating site.

When asked which acts they considered to be cheating, 100% of people said sex, declaring it undeniably the ultimate deceit.

Kissing followed, with 69% of people believing a snog is a step too far, whilst 47% said sexting was considered an unfaithful act.

On the other hand, chatting online with someone (32%), flirting (16%) and keeping in touch with an ex (15%) was deemed more acceptable, with fewer people considering it cheating.

Peter, a member of IllicitEncounters.com said “No one wants to know they’re being cheated on. Personally, I wouldn’t forgive my wife if I found out she was having an affair and I know that sounds rich coming from someone who is actually cheating, but I just don’t think I could bear the thought of her being with someone else. I’d be asking for a divorce straight away, and I think she’d do the same, which is why I’m being so discreet about my shenanigans.”

Jen, another user of the site, said “Ignorance is bliss. I’d be much happier not knowing that my husband’s having an affair. If he told me he was seeing someone else I’d then constantly be thinking about where he is and who he’s with, so I’ll firmly keep my head in the clouds.”

Expert comment from Jessica Leoni

Jessica Leoni, sex and relationships expert for IllicitEncounters.com, says “What is and isn’t considered cheating is incredibly subjective. Whilst one person might not have an issue with their partner keeping in touch with an old flame, other people just can’t stand the thought of it.

It’s no surprise that all members surveyed considered having sex with someone else as cheating, but the fact that the majority of those polled wouldn’t be able to forgive a cheating partner was rather shocking. It turns out people who are unfaithful have double standards when it comes to having affairs, and finding out their partner’s cheating is a hard pill to swallow.”

Stresses of cost of living crisis causing marriage breakdowns

The key findings

* 78% of people admit to being unhappier in their relationship as a result of the cost of living crisis

* 53% of people have considered divorce because of current financial turmoil

* Study conducted by IllicitEncounters.com, the UK’s largest extramarital dating site

After the surprise increase in the UK’s interest rates at the end of March and continuing rise in inflation, a new survey conducted by IllicitEncounters.com shows that financial woes aren’t the only thing we should be concerned about – marriages are increasingly at risk too.

More and more people are undeniably feeling the pinch during the current cost of living crisis, and it appears that relationships are suffering as a result.

The extramarital dating site surveyed 2000 members, asking if they are unhappier in their relationship as a result of the cost of living crisis. A whopping 78% of members agreed that it did indeed have an effect, suggesting that marriages are increasingly coming under pressure in the current financial climate.

Of those who declared they’re unhappier because of the gloomy economic situation, more than half (53%) have considered divorce due to marital tension as a result of the cost of living crisis.

However, divorce for many isn’t an option. The costly and drawn-out process is a headache no one wants to deal with unless absolutely necessary, so seeking an affair appears to be the cheaper and more accessible alternative.

Jeremy, a member on IllictEncounters.com said “The atmosphere at home over the past year was so bad that I just couldn’t stand being around my wife. I’d look for any excuse to stay away from her because I was so fed up with the arguments about how we were going to pay our bills that month. Obviously, with that amount of tension at home intimacy was the last thing on her mind, and since I wasn’t getting any at home I felt forced to find a release elsewhere.”

Lucy, another member on the site, said “I’d felt really isolated since the cost of living crisis came around. With my husband working non-stop trying to earn enough to cover the increased mortgage we’re paying, I’ve barely seen him. When we do finally get some time together, let’s just say that his performance is well below par – I’m lucky to get two minutes out of him but most of the time he doesn’t get aroused at all! Can you blame me for looking elsewhere?!”

Expert comment from Jessica Leoni

IllictEncounters.com sex and relationships expert Jessica Leoni said “It’s no surprise that people are wanting to find a bit of happiness in what are pretty bleak times. With relationships bearing the brunt of the cost of living crisis, people are wanting to find ways to get those dopamine levels up again. Constant bickering about bills, turning the heating down or having shorter showers isn’t exactly sexy and definitely won’t get your engine revving.

We’ve actually seen a huge rise in new registrations over the past year. Taking that into account, as well as the figures released in the survey, it really just highlights how the current financial situation in the UK is having an impact on relationships, and the increased need to seek solace in the arms of others.”

Top of the Crops – Farmers Declared Sexiest Male Profession

The key findings

* Farmers have been voted the sexiest profession in annual survey

* Doctors and chefs round off the top 3, followed by firemen and footballers

* Politicians rank last with just 1% of women finding them sexy

* Results come from a study conducted by IllicitEncounters.com, the UK’s leading dating website for married people

IllicitEncounters.com, the UK’s leading dating website for married people, surveyed 2000 women to discover which male profession is the sexiest in 2023.

Expert comment from Jessica Leoni

Sex and relationships expert for IllicitEncounters.com, Jessica Leoni has compiled and commented on the results below:

Farmers are top of the crops with 21% of the vote in a survey of the sexiest professions.

It turns out those hard-working, strong-armed farmers are what women want. With the likes of Jeremy Clarkson and Blur bassist Alex James getting involved and reaping the rewards of farming, it’s no surprise ladies can’t resist. Hunter boots and Barbour jackets are in, Savile Row suits and leather brogues are out.

Doctor, Doctor! Unsurprisingly, it’s medics who get women’s pulses racing, coming close second with 16% of the vote. Doctors are officially hot, so if you’re dating one make sure you’ve got some paracetamol to hand and keep that temperature down.

No room left for seconds here, chefs are in respectable third place with 14% of the vote. They say the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach, and it seems the same goes for women.

It’s getting hot in here! Firemen have been voted 4th sexiest profession (12%). It seems the idea of being scooped up into those muscly arms and away from danger is what turns women on.

Setting a good example with a place in the top 5 of the sexiest professions, teachers are awarded with 10% of the vote. With a show of hands, who could resist?!

This one’s put a spanner in the works. Plumbers come in 5th place (8%).

Not making a big impression are influencers, who are 6th overall sexiest profession with 5% of the vote.

Hairdressers didn’t make the cut, with just 4% of the vote and taking 7th place.

Not so sexy, bankers don’t have the appeal they used to with a measly 3% of the vote in 8th place. With the cost of living crisis, inflation and interest rates on the up, it’s no surprise ladies have had enough of all things finance.

Lagging behind in 10th place with just 1% of the vote, politicians won’t be able to talk their way out of this one. All words, no action – can we blame women for wanting more?

Times have changed. Women aren’t as dazzled by fancy suits and power anymore. Physical strength, a nurturing nature and intelligence are now the traits to look out for in an ideal partner.

Has your partner made plans this Friday? They may be cheating on you!

The key findings

* Friday, July 22nd, dubbed ‘Frisky Friday’, is the day your other half is most likely to cheat on you

* 87% of adulterers said they continue messaging their affair partner during the summer holidays, even though nearly a quarter of all affairs get busted by spouses checking their partner’s phones

* Results come from a study conducted by IllicitEncounters.com, the UK’s leading dating site for married people

Has your spouse made plans this Friday? Careful, they may be cheating on you! Today is the single biggest day a married person is likely to get cheated on this summer.

This year ‘Frisky Friday’ falls on the 22nd of July when adulterers plan to have their last illicit encounter with their extramarital lover before schools break up for the summer holidays.

The week before Frisky Friday, saw 46% more activity on the UK’s leading married dating website, IllicitEncounters.com. The affairs site predicts a 77% overall rise on Friday 22nd of July, the most popular day of the year for affairs.

The site polled 1000 male and female members and found out that 87% of adulterers continue messaging their affair partner over the summer cheat break, with more than half of them (56%) already having plans in place to see their lovers as soon as the summer holidays come to an end in September.

An additional 400 members, that have previously been caught cheating by their partners, were asked how their affair was discovered.

Nearly a quarter of affairs (24%) are busted by suspicious partners going through their spouse’s phones.

The second most popular method of unearthing an affair is a friend revealing the infidelity to them (20%).

Thirdly, cheating partners get discovered when a spouse accesses their computer or laptop (17%).

Other popular cheating busts are checking bank statements (10%), unfaithful partners stumbling on a lie (9%), and catching them in the act either by following them (7%)  or happening to catch them red-handed entirely by accident (4%).

A shocking 5% of affairs actually get busted by partners coming across their spouse’s profile on a dating app/site.

Amber, Newbury, 49, a member using the website said ‘I’ve been married for nearly 18 years and although I love my husband dearly, there’s just no spark.

I’ve had a few flings over the years and I am currently dating another married man. It’s going to be tough to get together over the school holidays so we’re planning to see eachother this Friday one last time. Having a little distance keeps the spark alive as we can still exchange dirty texts and sexy photos, in anticipation of meeting up when the kids are back in school.’

Expert comment from Jessica Leoni

Jessica Leoni, sex and relationships expert for IllicitEncounters.com, said “More people cheat leading up to, or straight after, a family affair. Cheating tends to peak just before and after the summer holidays as well as Christmas – why? Because adulterers know that they have to go on a bit of a cheat break when they’re spending time with family. As soon as the obligatory family time ends, they get back onto the unfaithful train.

Technology has definitely made it easier to cheat, likewise, it has made it easier to catch a cheat out by leaving a digital trail. You have to cheat smart, use passwords and aliases, clear your history, make sure you’re covering up your tracks.’

Like Kissing? Don’t get married – 63% of married couples haven’t snogged in the last 3 months!

The key findings

* 63% of married couples haven’t snogged in the last 3 months
* The key to a perfect kiss is to slow it down
* Big lips and tongue action make for a good kiss, although too much tongue and bad breath will make for a bad kiss
* Poll comes from 1400 married men and women on IllicitEncounters.com the UK’s leading married dating site

Guess what happens when you marry someone? The kissing stops!

In recognition of National Kissing Day, Wednesday 6th of July, IllicitEncounters.com the UK’s leading dating website for married people, surveyed 1400 men and women to discover how much, or how little, married couples kiss and what it is that makes a sensational smooch.

A shocking 63% of married couples haven’t snogged at all in the last 3 months, with 41% of those having not snogged for over 6 months.

Like Kissing? Don’t get married. Only 37% of married couples have kissed passionately in the last 3 months. Out of those, only a meager 18% have smooched within the last month.

Out of the married couples that haven’t passionately kissed in the last 3 months, 79% said they no longer enjoy snogging their partner even though 87% of them stand by the fact that they love snogging.

The study also got to the bottom of what makes a good or bad kiss. The biggest tip to take away from the results is that the pace of a kiss matters.

If you’re a slow kisser you’re not going to get any complaints. 51% of the respondents agree that slow kissing is the number one factor in a good kiss. The bulk of the respondents (42%) agree fast kissing is the number one thing that makes a kiss bad.

Many prominent movie scenes include kisses that are slow really honing in on this fact. The upside-down kiss in Spider-Man (2002), the iconic kiss on the bow of the ship in Titanic (1998), and the kiss in the pool in Romeo and Juliet (1996) another DiCaprio classic – the pace of the kissing is slow.

The second most important factor to a good kiss is big lips (23%) followed by some tongue action (14%).

The last most important thing the respondents said makes a kiss good is eye contact (9%).

The study also found too much tongue action (30%) is a turn-off, followed by bad breath (18%).

The last most important thing to factor in a bad kiss is small lips (6%).

We asked a bunch of our married members, using IllicitEncounters.com, to describe the perfect kiss in their own words.

Case Studies

Nadine, 37, Reading

‘You can’t rush a good kiss. It needs to be slow and sensual.’

Hattie, 44, Newport

‘A good kisser leaves you wanting more, but a great kisser will pull the floor up from beneath you, make you go weak at the knees and make the world around you cease to exist.’

Jeremiah, 33, West London

‘Timing is key. You’ve got to know when to go in for a kiss.’

Susannah, 45, Manchester

‘A kiss that makes the world and all its problems disappear.’

Expert comment from Jessica Leoni

Jessica Leoni, sex and relationships expert at  IllicitEncounters.com, adds ‘A kiss should never be rushed. The tempo is the most important box to tick to satisfy a great kiss. Teasing is pleasing, you have to pace yourself. A fast kiss is awkward and can lead to teeth knocking into eachother and sore lips – what’s the fun in that? Turns out tongue action is also important – but not too much tongue, nobody enjoys a sloppy kiss.

Why aren’t married people kissing anymore? They’ve been there, done that, and quite frankly they don’t enjoy kissing their spouse anymore. Perhaps it’s the realisation, after getting married, that your spouse is the only person you’re ever going to be allowed to snog with again. We need more variety in our lives. No matter how good fish and chips is, you still wouldn’t want to eat it for dinner for the rest of your life.’

Married to a Conservative? They’re probably Cheating on you!

The key findings

* More than half of all married cheats are Conservative voters

* Labour supporters are the second biggest love-rats with nearly two-thirds of them women

* Out of the top 6 political cheats, those that vote Green are the most faithful

* Study conducted by IllicitEncounters.com, the UK’s leading dating site for extramarital affairs

If affairs are good enough for Boris, they’re good enough for his voters right? The public should have known that he is not to be trusted a long time ago,  judging by all the sordid affairs and betrayals in Boris’ private life.

IllicitEncounters.com, a website dedicated to married men and women seeking affairs, surveyed 2000 members (split equally by gender) to shed light on the correlation between political affiliation and infidelity.

Conservative voters are hands down the biggest love-rats in Britain. An astonishing 57% of adulterers align their political views with this right-wing party. There is little difference between men and women in the poll, though there were slightly more male conservative voters (53%) than females (47%). We have contacted the Conservative’s press office regarding the findings but they are yet to respond to a request for comment.

The second most unfaithful are Labour supporters (19%), with nearly two-thirds of these women (63%) compared to men (37%).

Liberal Democrats make up 9% of adulterers, with women (62%) taking the lead compared to men (38%).

Fourth place is the Scottish National Party supporters with 7% overall (made up of 59% men, 41% women), followed by the DUP 3.5% (made up of 56% men, 44% women).

Lastly, a meagre 0.5% of adulterers associate with the Green Party, making them the least likely to cheat in the top 6, (made up of men 20%, women 80%).

Expert comment from Jessica Leoni

Jessica Leoni, sex and relationships expert for IllicitEncounters.com, said “From party gate to infidelity. Juicy scandals are ripe in our currently elected government, who seem to think they’re above the law, setting the bar rather low for what is permissible behaviour in society.

Conservative? Perhaps it’s simply in your nature to cheat. Personally, I think it’s because they think they can get away with it, like Matt Hancock sneaking around at work.

Lies, betrayals and debauchery are ripe. Politicians behaving badly, it’s rather like a reality TV show, we simply cannot get enough of.

It’s not just party-gate that happens behind closed doors, affairs do too! As if things couldn’t get any worse for the tories. Want your partner to be faithful? Marry Green!”

I’m in the Office – Number 1 Lie Cheating Men use to have an Affair!

The key findings

* 1 in 3 men use ‘I’m in the office’ as an excuse to have an affair

* 89% of hybrid workers choose Mondays or Fridays to cheat instead of work

* Less than a quarter of adulterers feel guilty for cheating, however nearly all of them agree they’d feel guilty if they were caught red-handed

* Study conducted by IllicitEncounters.com, the UK’s leading dating site for married people

He’s not working from home, he’s having an affair!

There’s a lot of stigma that people who WFH don’t actually get any work done. IllicitEncounters.com can shed some light on this being partly true, for affair seekers anyway!

The cheating website, that’s solely for married people seeking affairs, conducted a poll with 2000 male members to reveal the most popular excuses men use to cheat.

The survey found that most men lie that they’re going to work when actually they’re having an affair. A whopping 37% use ‘I’m in the office’ as an excuse to be unfaithful.

Out of those, 89% said they typically use this excuse on a Monday or a Friday – opting to have an affair on one of those days instead of actually going into the office. The word TW*T comes to mind, the term adopted for hybrid workers that don’t come into work either side of the weekend, only on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Looks like being a TW*T is the perfect excuse to cheat on your wife.

The second most popular excuse used by affair-seekers is I’m at the ‘gym’ (29%), or at the ‘pub with a friend’ (17%).

Only 5% of cheats say they are ‘working late’ to cover up their affair.

4% say they are ‘shopping’, instead of cheating, and 2% of adulterers use golf as an excuse – that’s one way to enjoy the 19th hole.

Less than a quarter of those surveyed feel guilty about their indiscretions (23%), however, nearly all of them 97% said they would feel guilty if their partner suspected them or found out about the affair.

We also asked whether call-forwarding was something these men do to hide their tracks and 65% admit they use call-forwarding to their mobiles just in case they get an impromptu phone call from their wives whilst ‘in the office.

Case Study

Harry, 34, London

‘Since March our company has adopted hybrid working. It’s really up to us when we want to come in as long as we don’t take the mickey. On weekends the kids need constant attention and my wife always seems to find bits and bobs need fixing around the house, I can never catch a break. I’ve been having an affair with someone local for about 3 months. While her husband is at work and the kids are in school I’ll go round to hers. There really isn’t any other time we can afford without raising suspicion. I don’t feel guilty, what my wife doesn’t know isn’t going to upset her.’’

Expert comment from Jessica Leoni

Jessica Leoni, sex and relationships expert at IllicitEncounters.com said ‘A solid alibi for infidelity is important to these men, you can’t get any more solid than going to work. We all switch off from our lives when we’re at work and have been indoctrinated to never contact a spouse whose out making bread unless it is an absolute emergency. Wives aren’t bothering husbands who are making money. How are they to know they’re not needed in the office on any particular day?

The hybrid worker is an opportunistic adulterer. As a direct effect of the coronavirus pandemic, this unique excuse allows men to indulge in affairs while lying about where they are on the regular.

Going to the gym is the second most popular lie, but does require a bit of planning, not only do you need your sweaty gym kit, you also want to make sure you’re at least a little bit in shape, otherwise all these visits to the gym seem iffy.

Formerly ‘working late’ was a tried and tested excuse, but it hardly works these days. If your spouse is always working late, you will become suspicious. If your spouse, however, has simply gone to work and comes home on time every single day, what reason would you have to worry?

Lying has always been a necessity in adultery. If you’re going to cheat, don’t get caught!”

* The most faithful in the top 10 are fans of Cheshire Cheese

* Poll conducted by IllicitEncounters.com the UK’s leading dating site for married people seeking affairs

You’ve got to brie-joking! Nope, it’s a stone-cold fact. Lovers of Brie break the rules and cheat on their partners.

A survey of 2,000 married men and women, who cheat, on extramarital dating site IllicitEncounters.com, has made shocking discoveries about infidelity and cheese.

Expert comment from Jessica Leoni

Here’s the cheddar, or rather, the results, compiled and commented on by spokesperson for IllicitEncounters.com, Jessica Leoni:

98% of UK households include cheese in their grocery shopping with the average Brit eating 30g a day* but which cheese is favoured by unfaithful Brits?

Adulterers choose Brie as the number one cheese for cheats! A cow’s-milk cheese originating from France, Brie, gains a whopping 20% of the vote, you better brie-lieve it!

In close second is Cheddar, originating from the English village of Cheddar in Somerset, with a whopping 18% of affair-seeking Brits choosing this block of dairy as their favourite. You can’t go wrong with Cheddar, it’s an easy option cheese that goes with just about anything!

Packed full of punch is Red Leicester, another English cheese, with its distinct flavour, in honorable third place (14%).

Fourth place cheese for cheats is Mozzarella (11.5%), a traditionally Italian cheese, followed by Camembert (9.5%), originating from France, in fifth place.

Sixth place goes to English cheese Stilton (7%) with its rather overpowering flavour, followed by the French cheese Comté (6%) in seventh.

Feta, originating from Greece, comes in eighth overall (4%) and Gruyère cheese (3%), a Swiss hard cheese, in ninth place.

Last but not least is Cheshire Cheese which originates from England. Cheshire Cheese eaters are the most faithful in the top 10 for cheese-loving cheats with only 1% and in tenth place.

With the days getting longer it’s a good time for some al fresco dining, with cheese and wine being a popular pastime in the summer month. Should we be meticulously checking the picnic basket or the cheese board for signs of adultery? I’ll leave that one down to you. All I know is if it’s brie you’re looking for, you better brie careful.

Let’s put the record straight, we all love a bit of cheese! The cheesier the better. If your partner devours Cheshire Cheese and skips the others – it’s probably safe to assume they are not cheating on you.
