Tomorrow marks ‘Frisky Friday’ – the day extramarital affairs are set to spike as the UK officially slides into summer holiday mode.

IllicitEncounters.com, the UK’s leading dating site for married people, is predicting a 71% increase in activity tomorrow compared to the average Friday, as schools across the country break up for summer. With family routines about to shift and holidays looming, thousands of cheaters are scrambling to squeeze in one last passionate meet-up with their lovers before family commitments make it harder to sneak away.

Jessica Leoni, sex and relationships expert at IllicitEncounters.com, said:
“Frisky Friday is like the Black Friday of affairs – it’s the final flurry before the summer holidays throw a spanner in people’s secret sex lives. When the kids are off school and spouses are around more, it becomes far more difficult to slip away unnoticed – so tomorrow is all about getting that final rendezvous before reality kicks in.”

According to a poll of 2,000 members making the most of Frisky Friday, the most popular alibi being used tomorrow is the solo hobby excuse – with 38% saying they’ll be heading to the gym, playing golf, going shopping or engaging in some other individual pursuit as cover for their affair. 

Another 29% will rely on the classic “working late” or other vague work commitments to justify their absence, while 17% say they’ll be “running errands” or attending appointments. Meanwhile, 11% will claim they’re simply meeting up with friends. The remaining 5% cited more creative excuses, ranging from volunteering stints to made-up fitness classes – one member even claimed to be helping walk rescue dogs this afternoon.

“People are creatures of habit – and that includes their alibis,” says Leoni. “For many people, the trick is to keep it boring and believable. The gym, work, or errands are all classic, low-risk covers because they’re solo and hard to verify. But some people get more inventive. The key is consistency and confidence – no one questions the person who looks like they’ve got it all together.”

One anonymous member, Shannon, a 44-year-old married mum of two from Hertfordshire, says she’s been planning her ‘Frisky Friday’ rendezvous for weeks. “I’ve told my husband I’ve booked a pilates workshop followed by lunch with a friend – but in reality, I’m spending the day in a hotel with my lover. My lover’s off on a family holiday next week, so this is our last chance to be together until September. We’ve both been counting down the days.” She adds, “It sounds mad, but there’s something thrilling about carving out time like this. It’s risky, but that’s part of the excitement.”

People who play board games are more like to have an affair, as study links strategy games to infidelity

* A survey has found that people who play board games are more likely to have an affair, with Monopoly, Scrabble, and Cluedo being the top games of choice for cheaters.

* 91% of board game players confessed to lying during games to win, while 21% used game nights as a cover for affairs.

* Experts say the strategic thinking and risk-taking skills honed in board games can translate into a knack for infidelity.

Playing board games requires tactical thinking, strategic planning, and sometimes a touch of ruthlessness – all skills that, as it turns out, may also be handy when having an affair. A new study conducted by affairs site IllicitEncounters.com suggests a surprising link between board game habits and infidelity.

The poll surveyed 1,600 members about their board game preferences and their experience with cheating. The results revealed that people who regularly play board games are more likely to be unfaithful. Among respondents, 24% reported playing board games regularly, 58% said they played occasionally, and 18% said they never played board games.

When it comes to the cheater’s choice of board games, Monopoly, the game of cutthroat deals and ruthless property grabs, came out on top with 34% of respondents naming it their favourite. Scrabble, the word game that rewards cunning and creativity, came in second at 29%, while Cluedo made it into the top three with 15%.

91% of board game players admitted they’ve lied during a game to win, while 1 in 5 (21%) said they’ve even used board games and “games nights” as a cover to meet up with a lover.

One person who took part in the poll, Harriet*, 39, confessed that her ability to think several moves ahead in Chess helped her plan her affairs with military precision. “I’d plan my alibis weeks in advance, just like I’d plan my moves in a game. It became a challenge to see how long I could keep it going without getting caught. With board games, you do whatever it takes to win. I guess I applied the same logic to my relationships.”

Jessica Leoni, IllicitEncounters.com’s sex and relationships expert, isn’t surprised by the findings. “Board games – especially strategic ones like Monopoly or chess – require careful planning, patience, and sometimes a little deception. Those same qualities often come into play when someone is conducting an affair. People who excel at these games tend to be comfortable with risk, can think long-term, and know how to cover their tracks – all of which are essential traits for those managing a secret relationship.” 

Leoni also points out that the drive to win can be a common factor. “For some people, having an affair isn’t just about dissatisfaction in their current relationship,  it’s about the excitement of conquest and getting away with something. That’s a dynamic we see in competitive game players too.”

So, the next time your partner suggests a cosy night of Scrabble or a cutthroat round of Monopoly, you might want to keep an eye on their strategy – on and off the board.

IllicitEncounters.com surveyed 1200 adulterers (split equally by men and women) and found that weight loss is a sign your partner may be cheating you. 

We’ve all heard of the heartbreak diet, but what about the infidelity diet? 76% of adulterers claim an affair has helped them lose weight. 

62% of married couples felt their relationship was a catalyst for overeating with 59% blaming their partners for encouraging bad food choices. 

70% said feeling comfortable in their relationship made them lose the motivation to diet.

The average amount of weight loss occurring in the first 3 months of cheating for a man is 7 pounds and a woman is 11 pounds.

A plethora of research supports the notion that relationships trigger weight gain. A study by market research firm OnePoll, surveyed 2000 couples and found that the average poll participant gained 17 pounds in the first year of marriage.*

‘I’m going to the gym’ is the top excuse love rats use to cheat on their spouse with a collective 45% of men and women citing this reason as their top alibi to sneak out for secret affairs.** It’s no wonder weight loss comes into play – you can’t expect your partner to believe you’re doing tons of exercise without slimming down a little.

Jenny, 49, Brentford, a member using the site said ‘We both got fat. I blame takeaways and eating out. We egg each other on to eat unhealthy snacks, gosh especially with the kids. You know, we’ve gone through spells of changing our lifestyle but on the whole, I do feel we got fatter since we married.

I started having an affair in August last year and I’ve gone from a size 14 to a size 10. I put it all down to the affair. I wanted to look and feel sexy to impress my date and I had this buzz from all the sneaking around that made me feel more conscious about what I was eating. What’s great actually is it has made my husband notice me. As if he came out of this daze and realised his wife of 15 years is a hot commodity. I’ve stopped cheating now but I wouldn’t hesitate in having an affair again if I needed to shed some pounds.’

According to new research released today by IllicitEncounters, the UK’s leading married dating site, the number one alibi for cheating right now is going to the gym. 
 
800 members of the site, split equally by male and female respondents, were surveyed on their recent affair exploits. The survey found the top go-to excuses adulterers have been using to cheat in the last month now lockdown restrictions are easing.
 
In the last month 52% of men and 38% of women have used the gym as an excuse to cheat on their spouse.
 
Most gym fanatics got their fitness fix doing home workouts during lockdowns however cheats felt the burn with gyms closed as it ruined their affair alibis. Now that gyms are open it’s no surprise that loverats choose ‘I’m going to the gym’ as the number one excuse to cheat.
 
And for those who suspect that spouses are suspicious when their partners aren’t getting any slimmer from exercising, 73% of affair seekers believe cheating has actually helped them lose weight! Making it the perfect cover up. 
 
Second top excuse for men is ‘pub with a friend’ (15%) followed by a ‘walk’ in third place (13%) and ‘working late’ (12%) in fourth. Fifth most popular excuse is ‘golf’ (4%).
 
Second top excuse for women is going for a ‘walk’ (27%), followed by ‘coffee with a friend’ in third place (20%) and going to an ‘outdoor exercise class’ in fourth (5%). Fifth most popular excuse for women is ‘sunbathing’ (3%) – although it is expected this excuse will garner more momentum as the weather gets hotter.
 
89% of those polled agreed that national lockdown restrictions made it difficult for them to come up with excuses to cheat.
 
Georgia, 42, London, said ‘I’m in a less than satisfying marriage and I have had affairs in the past. I lost my confidence during the pandemic and put on quite a bit of weight.
 
As soon as my local gym opened I joined. It’s a great excuse to have an affair. My husband never questions me. He thinks it’s great I want to lose weight. What’s brilliant is I’ve lost 10 pounds in the last 4 weeks and I’d go as far as saying that it’s all down to the affair, maybe I’ll cancel my gym membership.’

It’s interesting to note men chose going to the pub as an excuse, whereas women opted for going for a coffee – some gender biases here over stereotypical male vs female behaviours. It seems it’s more believable that a man may want to venture to the pub for a pint, and women think it’s a more plausible excuse to use a coffee meet up as an alibi. 
 
Lots of men and women use going for a ‘walk’ as an excuse – perhaps as this has been the easiest excuse to continue using since all the lockdown restrictions.
 
Golf featured as a male only alibi, although I do wonder how many men forget to pick up the golf clubs when they leave the house.
 
Sunbathing also only seems to feature as an excuse for women. If your husband tells you he wants to go sunbathing, it’s safe to say he’s probably telling the truth.”

Shaun Mark “Sean” Bean, an English actor, has been voted the number one sexiest celebrity man over the age of 60 2021, with 19% of the vote. At 61 years old Sean is the second youngest in the poll. Sean has played a variety of goodies and baddies on screen, such as Ned Stark in Game of Thrones (2011), or more recently Mr. Wilford in Snowpiercer (2021) – his fan base is diverse. Sean is a vision of traditional masculinity, rugged and strong, with the impression he is powerful and brave – it is no surprise women find him irresistible. 
 
Brosnan, Pierce Brosnan, internationally acclaimed James Bond star, wins second sexiest (16%). At 67 years old Pierce is the epitome of class, scrubbing up exceptionally well in a suit. Pierce has timeless good looks, he is very suave in an old fashioned way – of course women would be attracted to this traditionally handsome man.
 
The dashing Denzel Washington, a Hollywood icon, claims 3rd sexiest (13%) at 66 years old. Famous for movies such as Malcom X (1992) and The Equalizer (2014). Denzel has boyishly striking features, and seems to have not aged a day in the last decade. With his chiseled physique, and seductive charm, of course women are pining for him.
 
Fourth place goes to Tom Hanks (9%), star of classics such as Forest Gump (1994) and The Green Mile (1999). This American heartthrob holds up very well at 64 years old. Let’s just say, Forest if you have to run, run right this way…

Shortly followed by 65 year old, American actor, Bruce Willis in 8th place (4%) star of critically acclaimed films such as Die Hard (1998), The Sixth Sense (1999) and Looper (2012).
 
Hunky Harrison Ford, American Actor and environmental activist, comes in 9th sexiest overall (3%), at 78 he is the oldest celebrity to make it in the top 10.
 
Last but not least is 60 year old, actor and stand up comedian, Damon Wayans (1%). The youngest in the poll. Damon is known for his stint on Saturday Night Live (1985), as well as multiple television shows including My Wife and Kids (2005).
 
53% of those polled agree that men get better looking with age, and a further 82% of women said they prefer to date someone older than themselves.

He’s not Exercising, He’s having an Affair!

IllicitEncounters.com surveyed 240 of its members who have met up with their mistress or histress in the last week.

With lockdown restrictions having been marginally eased in the UK, the majority of men and women who are having affairs during lockdown are using exercise as an excuse to meet up.

A whopping 78% of men and 54% of women have said they are out exercising in the last week when actually they’ve been cheating.

Men are most likely to say they are going for a run (24%), followed by playing tennis (16%).

Top cheating excuse for women is going for a walk (20%).

The second highest rated excuse for women is sunbathing (15%) – coinciding with the recent heatwave in the UK. With forecasts predicted to go up to a scorching 26C in some parts of London today, this excuse is likely to continue to rise as the weather gets hotter.

Some of the excuses were gender specific.

Only men cite playing tennis (16%), going for a drive (11%), playing golf (9%), needing to cool off after an argument (3%) and dropping by the office (2%) as an excuse to cheat in the last week.

Whereas only women cite sunbathing (15%), needing a break from the kids (12%), yoga (7%), grocery shopping (6%), and visiting a garden centre (4%) as an excuse.

Going for a run comes in as the top excuse with 19% for both genders combined.

Dave, a member using IllicitEncounters.com said “It isn’t that unusual for me to be doing outdoor sports, I’ve always been a keen runner and a avid cyclist, leaving the house for a few hours a day sporting lycra is very ordinary, so exercise for me is the perfect excuse to cheat.”

Monika, a member using IllicitEncounters.com said “Oh come on, we’re all adults here. Seeing your lover during lockdown is no different to meeting up with a friend and socially distancing. I take my border collie for a walk and meet my other man in the park, so sue me. The weather has been so nice recently, I’ve just been telling my hubby I’m out sunbathing, the tan lines make it easy to prove.”

IllicitEncounters.com sex and relationships expert Jessica Leoni said “If people choose to meet their lovers during lockdown it is essential they adhere to social distancing rules. Let’s keep the exercise alive, and leave the sexercise till life returns to normal.

People who are in unhappy marriages often report feeling lonely. Lockdown has made these people feel even more isolated and alone. It’s expected that they would try and see each other, to fill that emotional void, and satisfy a basic social need of love and belonging.

Many people who are cheating are living a discreet double life, so in order to see their lover they need to come up with a justifiable reason. I’m not surprised exercise is the primary excuse to cheat for both genders, it’s one of the main reasons we are allowed to venture out during lockdown.”

Women who love yoga cheat on their husbands

 

–  More than half of female cheats go to yoga, and it’s not to lose weight

Leading dating site for married people IllicitEncounters.com surveyed 2000 of its female members
asking if they took up a sport or hobby for a minimum of 2 hours per week since embarking on an
affair. 1168 polled said yes, and over half of those chose to take up yoga.

78% of women who go to yoga also admit that the hobby has improved their sex life.

Running came second place with 20% and tennis with a respectable 14%.

The findings also indicated that women were far less likely to take up cycling (2%) or swimming (3%).

The research by IllicitEncounters.com found that the most popular reason for taking up a new sport
or hobby was to try something new (26%) and to build confidence (21%).
Stress relief came in at only 6% and getting fit or losing weight came second to last reason with only
8% of the vote.

I’ve not only just taken up yoga, I’ve also become vegan, and I’ve even started painting again – which

Fitness fan Hayley Leeanna, 36, had dated men online for years with varying success and could never work out which look potential partners liked most.

So she conducted an experiment – adopting seven different looks and dating for two weeks with different profile pictures and personality traits.

And she proved once and for all that you really do more fun as a brunette rather than a blonde when the number of approaches halved after she changed her profile picture to one where her hair had a golden colour.

Hayley said: “I spent six months learning everything there is to know about how subtle changes to your profile picture and personality details can make a huge difference to the type of man you attract.

“If you want to have sex, it sounds obvious but you need to be make clear in your pictures that you are out for a good time. So accentuate the cleavage, smile and look like you are up for a laugh.

“You should also use some pictures of you when you were younger to hide your real age – everyone is doing that online.

Here’s what male and female love cheats look like and how they behave in 2019.

The typical male cheat is a 43-year-old manager earning £58,000 a year – just over twice the national income of £28,400.

At 5ft 10in, he is an inch taller than Mr Average and his size ten feet are also one size bigger than the size 9 norm.

He drives a Golf, his number one hobby is also golf and his favourite TV show is Match of the Day.

He has dark hair with flecks of grey which he prefers not to dye.

The typical female cheat is slightly younger than her male counterpart at 39 – reflecting a trend which shows that people in the last year of a decade are more likely to be unfaithful because ‘watershed’ birthdays such as 30 and 40 prompt life changes.

She is also a white collar professional and, because of the gender pay gaps, she earns slightly less at £52,000 a year.

At 5ft 4in, she is also an inch taller than the typical British woman and she is also more likely to wear high heels on her feet which are a size 7, one above the average.

They looked at the most popular characteristics of 5,000 male and female cheats based on preferences in their profiles and questionnaires.

IllicitEncounters.com spokesman Christian Grant said: “What these two profiles show is that Mr and Mrs Average love cheat are richer than your ordinary person but in most other respects they are typical.

“They like the same TV shows, drive the same cars and have the same hobbies as anyone else.

“One other big giveaway for both sexes if you are trying to spot if your partner will be unfaithful is size. Cheats tend to be taller in both sexes and have a bigger feet.

“The other big warning sign is age, particularly if they are entering the last year of a decade. If your partner is turning 30, 40 or 50 this year, do make an effort to spoil them because they may be thinking of making a change.”

Poll Revealed! Most Popular Places to go to Meet a Cheat

  • Survey of 1000 members of IllicitEncounters.com has revealed:

Could a newfound interest in fitness be a sign that your significant other is going to cheat on you? A recent survey of 1000 members of IllicitEncounters.com, the U.K’s leading dating website for married people, has revealed the top places where cheaters go to find potential partners to have an affair with.

When asked how they go about meeting people to cheat with, shockingly almost a third of respondents chose the gym as their preferred place to seek an extramarital companion. This makes the gym the most popular place other than IllicitEncounters.com to meet an extramarital companion. The poll also asked how long the affair would typically last, those who prefer to find their fling in the gym also had shorter relationships.

The other place that polled highly is work social events such as leaving drinks, office parties, and other informal gatherings with 26% looking to get lucky with a colleague. Affairs that got their start at the office party also had a greater longevity.

Social media platforms like Facebook made up 17% of the polling result. With all the technology at our fingertips connecting and reconnecting is easier than ever, it is perfect for touching base with an old flame. Pubs, bars, and hobby clubs also made the list, the latter catering for more niche sections of the population. One user indicated under ‘Other’ that she would meet married men through her job as an animal psychic.
