Illicit Encounters surveyed 1,500 of its male members in each region of the UK, to find out what personality and physical traits they look for in their dream partner.

South of England: Savvy men in the South are attracted to a woman who is smart, cool and on trend. They like a slim, sharp dresser who works hard and plays hard. Striking and tall at 5ft 11inches, coupled with a personality that is up for anything gets the vote of the Southern quarter.

The Midlands: The warm men of the Midlands are looking for ladies with equally nurturing personalities, a big heart and a love of good food.  A tall busty beauty with a cracking sense of humour, and a height of 5ft 5 inches would tick all their boxes in the search for Ms right.

North of England: These guys like a laugh and some sweet loving teamed with loyalty and an appreciation of family life. They are looking for a best friend who is bubbly, brunette and one of the boys. Height wasn’t as important as a gorgeous smile and a sexy giggle in the North.

Leading extramarital dating website, IllicitEncounters.com, has released its largest ever study into what regional women find attractive in men. Illicit Encounters surveyed 1000 of its female members in each region of the UK, to find out what personality and physical traits they look for in a man.

Scotland: The perfect Scottish man is over 6ft tall, medium build with strawberry blond hair, strong willed and with a sensitive side. The strong silent type whose actions speak louder than words will win the heart of these ladies.

Wales: Welsh women are on the look out for a man who averages 5ft 7inches tall, dark haired with a few extra-pounds on for that killer cuddle. A sociable man with a good sense of humour was top of the list.

Think: Jack Black

Ireland: Irish women are looking for a man who is 5ft 10, dark haired with a toned body; they are especially attracted to an intense and brooding personality. Someone that would show them a good time and enjoy an active lifestyle was equally as important as smouldering good looks.

Charming Brits oust Hollywood Hunks topping 2014 sexiest actors poll

With the BAFTAs taking place in London’s Royal Opera House this weekend, the british film industry is set to take over from the palm trees of Hollywood this award season, but it’s not just the incredible films the UK has turned out in 2013 that has got the world’s attention – it’s the British male actors that have ladies everywhere in a spin according to the UK’s leading dating website for extramarital affairs, IllicitEncounters.com.

Illicit Encounters ran a poll asking their female members who makes their heart’s beat faster on screen, and the top objects of desire were: Benedict Cumberbatch 38% in first place, followed by Tom Hiddleston 27%, and Michael Fassbender 19% third. This is a total turnaround from the 2013 poll which put Wolverine star Hugh Jackman 48% first, the ultra smooth Bradley Cooper 29% second, and the handsome Denzel Washington third with 16%.

Dashing RADA trained Tom Hiddleston was close behind his friend Cumberbatch as heartthrob number two. Hiddleston has become a Hollywood star in his right by playing the villain Loki in the Marvel ‘Thor’ movies, as well as just ending a sell out run at the Donmar Warehouse in Shakespeare’s Coriolanus; Hiddleston’s star is firmly on the rise. Rough and ready German Irish actor Michael Fassbender takes third place, with lead roles in ‘The Counselor’ and also ’12 Years a Slave’ in 2013, Fassbender has secured his place among some of today’s greatest actors – and if you saw him ‘Shame’, it’s not hard to understand why the ladies love him.

Classically Hollywood’s leading men top all the sexiest males polls, but the charm and charisma of this trio seem to have ladies going weak at the knees. Us Brits are having a bit of a moment right now; Hiddleston also stars in Jaguar’s new TV advert along with veteran actor Ben Kingsley and Mark Strong telling us that “It’s good to be bad” as villains in movies are usually played by Brits – maybe it’s because the Americans like to see us lose, but it looks like it’s them losing out in the sexy stakes – viva Britannia!

However it wasn’t all great news for the British thespians as Gerard Butler only just scraped into the sexiest actors list with 1% of the female vote.

Sean Connery Tops Sexy Over 60’s Poll!

 

Women have voted Sean Connery the sexiest over 60 celebrities. The smouldering Scottish Actor who is 82, has been voted as the over 60 star, who women would like to ditch their other half for.

The former James Bond has previously been voted as the Sexiest man of the Century in 1999 and has been named as one of the 100 sexiest men in film history and can now add sexiest man over 60 to his accolades.

Harry Potter star Alan Rickman 67, came in second in the poll of 2,900 female members of leading dating website Illicitencounters.com.

We have seen an increase in the number of women joining who are less concerned about a mans age and more attracted to their experience and intelligence. However the survey was bad news for Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger, who despite being in the midst of a sold out world tour and headlining Glastonbury this summer, only just scraped into the top 10.

Women find the Irish accent the sexiest, while men go posh!

It seems some men have the luck of the Irish when it comes to the accent department. Women have voted the Irish accent the sexiest in a new poll conducted by leading married dating site IllicitEncounters.com.

Women overwhelmingly found the romantic brogue of such stars as Colin Farrell and Liam Neeson irresistible. The survey of over 6000 members of the dating site also found that men where most likely to be attracted to a woman with an Oxford or so called “posh” accent.

Working Longer Hours Can Lead To An Affair

Spending more hours in the office is leading to a rise in affairs in the workplace according to a recent study by Notatwork.co.uk and married dating site IllicitEncounters.com. The research revealed that people who regularly worked over 45 hours a week are almost 5 times more likely to embark on an extra marital affair.

It estimated that more than seven million people a year in the UK work unpaid extra hours to hold on to their jobs. The study revealed that employees that regularly do more that 50+ hours a week are those working in the Video games industry, financial sector, medicine, journalism, and the emergency services. With all of them having a much higher than average number of work-based affairs.

The most common reason the respondents gave for working longer hours was that workload has increased in recent years and they fear for their jobs, so they work longer hours to make sure they are secure. The video games industry has long had a reputation of having to work long hours with developers doing 12 to 16 hours a day for three to four months at a time, without extra pay due to the belief if they don’t they will be replaced by younger cheaper talent.

Workers can find themselves in the office late at night, exhausted and feeling low and take comfort with a co-worker in the same situation, this can then develop as they spend more time with each other than they are with their spouses. Over 54% of all workers admitted that at some-point in their career they have considered engaging in a work-based affair and this study shows the likelihood of them doing so increases exponentially when working hours are increased.”

Unemployment fell to 2.5 million between October and December last year and there are 580,000 more people in work than a year ago, but staff are being squeezed into working longer hours whilst taking home less, with average earnings growth slowing to just 1.4%, below the 2.7% inflation rate.

Employers need to recognise that squeezing more hours out of their workers is counter-productive in more ways than one. It affects their workers’ morale, their physical and mental well being and as this study has shown, can also be detrimental to their personal relationships. None of those is going to be of any long term benefit to any business.

New Study: Office Based Romance Cost British Companies Millions

No company wants to have to deal with unnecessary and avoidable costs of situations such as sexual harassment, discrimination, health and safety or unfair dismissal claims against the organisation. As well as costing a fortune these actions can harm the reputation of the business and have an impact on the productivity of the staff.

Leading extra-marital affairs website IllicitEncounters.com, In conjunction with NotAtWork.co.uk, commissioned a series of studies and reports to investigate the economic impact on businesses caused by affairs within the workplace.

Two surveys were conducted in October 2012, asking individuals and business owners to answer questions relating to the effect of Office Romances on careers and impact on businesses.

Over a thousand individuals responded to the ‘Are Office Romances a good idea’ survey and over 200 businesses to the ‘Impact of Office Romances on UK Businesses’ survey.

Individuals, when asked if they had ever engaged in an office romance.

  • 75% of respondents have at least considered it.
  • 54% have engaged in at least 1 office romance.
  • 27% have engaged in an office romance more than once.

When asked if their employers had a contractual morality clause forbidding office relationships.

  • 6% stated that their employer had it as part of the terms and conditions of their employment.
  • 35% stated that their employer did not mind at all.

They were then asked if they felt office-based romances can impact on one’s productivity at work.

  • 16% answered ‘Not at all’
  • 84% felt that it would impact productivity at least a little. (38% said it definitely would)

In regards to disciplinary actions related to office romances, 20% of respondents claim that they or a colleague have been disciplined for having a work-place romance.

Businesses taking part in the ‘Impact of Office Romances on UK Businesses’ survey revealed the following:

  • 74% of businesses have no formal or informal policy to discourage staff from engaging in office relationships
  • Only 16% of businesses said that office-based romances had no effect on productivity within their organisation. 48% stated that it would only have minimal impact.
  • Only 19% of businesses stated that an office-based romance would in no way affect the career prospects of those involved.
  • 32% of businesses would consider (or already have) a morality clause in its employment contracts to forbid office romances.
  • 51% of businesses felt recommending employees seek romance outside of their place of work would save them money and improve productivity.
  • In the last 12 months, the average cost to each business from issues relating to office romances was over £65,000. So the total cost to the 200 companies surveyed was in excess of £13 million.

It is interesting then that the majority of businesses acknowledge that office romances can have a negative impact on productivity but over half feel that it is minimal, in contrast to 84% of individuals who stated that it would affect productivity at least a little.

Although a morality clause within an employment contract would seem too drastic an action for many employers, encouraging employees to seek romances outside of work by promoting the use of online dating sites as well as making employees aware of the long term effects an office romance could have on their career can be a more effective and less draconian strategy in refocusing their employees and avoiding costly HR issues.
