Politicians named Britain’s most likely profession to cheat, study reveals

* People working across politics – from MPs and councillors to civil servants – topped the list, with more than a quarter linking the sector to infidelity.
* High-pressure, long-hour professions linked to trust and authority, including police, doctors and teachers, also ranked highly.
* Experts say secrecy, stress and blurred work-life boundaries create the perfect conditions for affairs to develop.
* Study conducted by IllicitEncounters.com, the UK’s largest extramarital dating site

People working in politics – from MPs and councillors to civil servants and policy advisers – have topped a new and eyebrow-raising league table of Britain’s most unfaithful professions, according to a poll by IllicitEncounters.com, the UK’s largest extramarital dating site.

The survey of 3,000 UK adults found that those employed across the political sector are more likely to cheat than workers in any other profession, with 28% of respondents linking infidelity to roles within politics. Long hours, high-pressure environments and a culture of discretion were repeatedly cited as factors that make affairs more likely.

It’s not just people in politics keeping secrets, however. The research suggests that professions traditionally associated with trust and authority also feature heavily on the list. Police officers ranked second, with 23% of respondents associating the profession with infidelity, followed closely by doctors on 21%, where shift work, emotional intensity and irregular hours were frequently blamed.

Teachers also made the top ten, with 18% saying the profession is prone to cheating. Meanwhile, lawyers (15%) and those working in finance (14%) were also flagged as high-risk, with ambition, long days and blurred lines between work and social life cited as contributing factors.

Perhaps more surprisingly, roles rooted in care and public service still scored highly. Nurses (11%) and social workers (9%) both featured, while journalists (9%) and the military (8%) completed the top ten.

Jessica Leoni, sex and relationships expert for IllicitEncounters.com, says the results are less about profession stereotypes and more about environment. “When we talk about politics here, we’re not just talking about MPs in Westminster,” she explains. “We mean anyone working within the political system – civil servants, advisers, councillors and policy teams – roles that often involve long hours, emotional intensity and a strong expectation of discretion.”

She adds, “Professions that combine pressure, power and secrecy consistently rank highest when it comes to infidelity. When work becomes all-consuming and personal lives take a back seat, it’s actually often with colleagues – people who understand that pressure – where boundaries start to blur. I mean, Matt Hancock had an affair with an aide just a few years ago… do we really other people in politics haven’t been doing the same thing behind closed doors since then?”

Resident doctors’ strike triggers surge in affairs as medics fight off boredom

IllicitEncounters.com has reported a 26% jump in sign-ups from healthcare professionals since the resident doctors’ strike began on Friday.
* A poll of new members working in the ‘Healthcare & Medical’ sector reveals the top reason for signing up was simply “boredom” during the walkout.
* A married resident doctor admits he turned to infidelity because of a combination of boredom, work stress and a struggling relationship with his wife.
* Relationship experts explain how stress, routine disruption, and even boredom can be powerful catalysts for infidelity.

As thousands of resident doctors across England and Wales continue their walkout, it seems not everyone is spending their downtime on the picket lines.

IllicitEncounters.com, the UK’s largest extramarital dating site, has reported a 26% increase in sign-ups from users in the ‘Healthcare & Medical’ sector between Friday and Monday, compared to the same period last year – coinciding exactly with the latest wave of industrial action.

According to a poll of 1,000 new joiners from the medical sector during the strike, the number one reason for signing up was simple: boredom. With rotas suspended and daily chaos swapped for unexpected quiet, 38% said they turned to the affairs site purely because they were bored while not working.

A further 24% admitted that more free time than usual pushed them to explore new connections, while others cited workplace stress (15%), frustration with home life (11%), and long-term loneliness caused by erratic schedules (7%).

One new member Daniel*, a married resident doctor from Manchester who joined the married dating site on the weekend, said, “I’m usually working insane hours, constantly under pressure. But with the strike, suddenly I had this gaping void in my schedule. My wife’s still at work, and I’m just… bored. I’ve been home, pacing, watching TV, and it just hit me – this is the perfect time to explore something new, something just for me. It’s not ideal, but the boredom, combined with the underlying stress of my job and a frosty relationship with my wife, just pushed me to sign up.”

Jessica Leoni, sex and relationships expert at IllicitEncounters.com, commented on the unique trend: “The doctors’ strike creates a very unusual scenario. For many in the medical profession, their lives are defined by relentless work and immense pressure. When that routine is suddenly disrupted, it can lead to unexpected feelings of boredom, isolation, or a need for release.

Our data suggests that for some, this newfound, albeit temporary, freedom is being channelled into seeking discreet connections. It highlights how stress, routine disruption, and even boredom can be powerful catalysts for individuals to explore avenues for emotional and physical fulfillment outside their primary relationships.”

Boffins are declared best in bed, according to new poll – Brains trump brawn when it comes to sex appeal

* 79% say intelligence makes someone more sexually attractive – with degree-holders rated better in bed.

* People living in university towns are more likely to have more pulling power, with Cambridge declared the city with the best lovers.

* Doctors, academics and lawyers top the list of most lusted-after careers when it comes to lovers.

* Study conducted by IllicitEncounters.com, the UK’s largest extramarital dating site

It turns out brains really are the new six-pack – with clever clogs declared the best lovers in Britain, according to a new poll from IllicitEncounters.com, the UK’s leading affairs site.

In a survey of 1,500 members, a staggering 79% admitted that intelligence made someone instantly more sexually attractive, with nearly seven in ten (68%) claiming degree-holders were better in bed than their non-graduate counterparts. For 74% of respondents, the most memorable sex of their life came courtesy of someone they’d describe as “intellectual.”

It’s bad news for gym buffs and influencers, with just 18% saying their fittest lover was also their best, and only 6% confessing that someone active on social media had ever left a lasting impression. In fact, more than half of respondents said they found bookish partners to be more adventurous in bed, while 59% said postgrads were the most confident and communicative between the sheets.

Many members cited emotional intelligence as the real turn-on, with 52% agreeing that “smart people make sex feel more meaningful.” When asked what they look for in a lover, 63% said they were more likely to message someone who mentioned a university degree in their profile – a strong indicator that smart is, quite simply, sexy.

The survey also revealed the most lusted-after careers, with doctors (61%), academics (37%), and lawyers (36%) topping the list. Tech workers (30%) and teachers (27%) also scored highly, while reality TV stars and influencers were considered the least desirable partners (6%).

In a battle of the brainy cities, Cambridge (64%) came out on top as the place most associated with the best lovers, followed by Oxford (59%), Edinburgh (57%), London (56%) and Bristol (49%). Whether it’s punting or passion, it seems university towns have a clear advantage when it comes to pulling power.

Jessica Leoni, sex and relationship expert at IllicitEncounters.com, said “This poll busts the age-old myth that the best lovers are the ones with the best bodies. What we’re seeing time and time again is that our members value curiosity, creativity and communication far more than physical perfection – and that’s what brainy people tend to bring to the bedroom.”

She added: “Smart lovers know how to listen, how to tune in, and how to make their partner feel seen. And when you combine that with emotional intelligence and a little imagination, you’re in for fireworks – not just between the sheets, but beyond.

So if you’ve been spending all your time in the gym, you might want to swap the dumbbells for a decent book – because when it comes to sex appeal, brains are back in fashion.”

“I’m a domme – people pay me to make them suffer but my long-term partner has no idea”

* Jennifer, 30 from Brighton, has been in a committed relationship for 11 years, but leads a double life as a dominatrix, fulfilling her clients’ extreme desires without her partner’s knowledge.

* She caters to successful, high-powered men, including doctors and executives she meets on extramarital dating site IllicitEncounters.com

* Jennifer’s partner remains completely unaware of her secret life, which she believes is the only way to fulfil her unique sexual needs while maintaining her relationship.

On the surface, Jennifer, 30 from Brighton, seems to have it all – a long-term relationship of 11 years and a stable, normal life. But behind closed doors, she’s living a double life that would shock her partner to the core. By day, she’s just your average girlfriend, but by night, she transforms into a ruthless dominatrix, making powerful men pay to be humiliated and degraded – all while her partner remains blissfully unaware.

Jennifer’s journey into the world of domination started six years ago when she realised her relationship was falling flat in the bedroom. “I figured out that I need a domme/sub dynamic instead of a regular relationship,” she spills. “Right now, I juggle around three regular subs at a time.”

And these aren’t just any men – they’re high-flying professionals with big bank accounts and even bigger secrets. “I’ve never met a submissive on IllicitEncounters.com whose wife has a clue about his kink,” Jennifer reveals, referencing the affair website where she meets her clients. These men, often doctors, lawyers, and financial execs, are desperate to be dominated in ways their wives could never imagine.

For Jennifer, the thrill isn’t just in the whips and chains – it’s in the power play. “The real satisfaction comes from the power exchange, not the physical acts,” she explains. “When we’re in session, these men worship me like a queen. The power rush I get knowing they’ll do anything I say is intoxicating. They love being humiliated, and I love being in control.”

But here’s the kicker – her partner has no idea what she’s really into. “He’d be horrified if he found out about my secret life,” Jennifer admits. “But this is the only way I can satisfy my cravings. My subs and I get to indulge in our twisted dynamic, and it doesn’t interfere with my home life.”

And if you think these men just want a quick thrill, think again. Some are shelling out serious cash to bow down to Jennifer. “I’ve had subs pay as little as £30 just for a chat,” she says. “Others send me ‘tributes’ – that’s cash or gifts to show their appreciation. One guy even offered £300 a month for regular sessions, but I had to turn him down. And when I’m under the weather or on my period? Some of them send money to cheer me up!”

Jennifer’s story exposes a hidden world where powerful men submit to their darkest desires in secret. A recent survey conducted by IllicitEncounters.com found that only 34% of 1,600 people polled feel comfortable discussing their sexual fantasies with their partners. And for those who do, a staggering 29% end up having a negative effect on their relationship.

Sex and relationships expert Jessica Leoni isn’t surprised by the secrecy. “Kink-shaming is clearly a big issue in some relationships. It’s alarming how many people can’t be honest about their desires with their partners. Even worse, when they do open up, it often backfires and hurts the dynamic between two people who should be able to be open about everything.

Stories like Jennifer’s are quite unique, but it’s great to know that people feel like they can be their true selves when using IllicitEncounters.com.”

“HRT Boosted My Sex Drive – Now I’m Having an Affair Behind My Husband’s Back”

* Nikki, 51 from Berkshire, reveals how she feels ‘reborn’ after being prescribed HRT by her doctor, leading to a life-changing libido lift.

* The married woman describes how her sex drive ‘went through the roof’ and led her to join extramarital dating site IllicitEncounters.com

* She explains that the combination of HRT and joining IllicitEncounters.com has transformed her life, and how after 10 years of being celibate she is making up for lost time with a vengeance.

A wife has revealed how HRT had a dramatic impact on her sex drive, leading her to have multiple affairs with married men.

Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) is making waves in the UK, not just for alleviating symptoms of the menopause, but for significantly impacting women’s sex lives. According to the Department of Health and Social Care, around 15% of women aged 45-64 in England are currently prescribed HRT, and this figure continues to rise.

Nikki, a 51-year-old woman from Berkshire, started taking HRT nine months ago and it was at that moment she found herself at a crossroads. Feeling desperately unhappy and trapped in a stagnant marriage, she joined IllicitEncounters.com to shake things up and find some joy. Her loneliness in her marriage was the main driver, but she was also battling classic symptoms of perimenopause like brain fog, insomnia, aches and pains, and an almost non-existent libido.

Her journey with HRT began after a candid conversation with her doctor, who suggested the use of hormone patches which turned out to be a rollercoaster ride. “The dose might have been too high because I felt like a Duracell bunny – constantly energised and with an insatiable libido. It was as if I was high on life, but it was too much,” Nikki recalls.

This surge in sexual energy is not uncommon; a recent poll of 800 women on IllicitEncounters.com who are currently taking HRT revealed that 86% have seen a libido life since starting the therapy.

After discussing these intense effects with her doctor, Nikki was recommended a Mirena coil combined with oestrogen gel – the results were nothing short of life-changing. She found herself with the perfect amount of energy, her sleep patterns improved, and her libido was through the roof. “For the first time, I genuinely felt alive and intensely sexual. The confidence boost was undeniable; I felt more attractive, lost weight, saw my hormonal skin clear up, and even my hair became thicker,” she says.

In fact, according to IllicitEncounters’ poll, 68% of women taking HRT reported a significant improvement in self-image and confidence, while 71% felt more sexually satisfied.

Nikki became obsessed with sex, thinking about it constantly. Masturbation became a daily necessity, and she began exploring with toys and watching porn for the first time in her life. After years of a dormant sex life, she was making up for lost time with a vengeance.

Unfortunately, reviving her sex life with her husband was out of the question. Being much older than her and struggling with erectile dysfunction for years, Nikki’s husband forced the couple to live a celibate life for over a decade. It was only after taking HRT that she realised that she needed more.

Nikki’s experience aligns with findings that 59% of women say their partners couldn’t keep up with their increased sex drive after taking HRT, prompting them to look elsewhere for sexual fulfilment.

Joining IllicitEncounters, Nikki sought not just an emotional connection but physical satisfaction too. “When I met my lover, he turned out to be incredible in bed, giving me sensations I had never experienced before, likely because I was perpetually aroused. We are both eager to explore new things and fantasies together, something neither of us anticipated finding on IE,” she shares.

This combination of HRT and IllicitEncounters has been a revelation for Nikki, making her deeply question her marriage. “At 51, I feel like I’ve been reborn, and I’m increasingly convinced that I shouldn’t have to stay in a stale and unfulfilling relationship. HRT has given me a new lease on life, and my affair has shown me what I’ve been missing. It’s a complex situation, but one thing is clear: I refuse to go back to feeling lifeless and unfulfilled,” she concludes.

According to Jessica Leoni, sex and relationships expert at IllicitEncounters.com, “Nikki’s story isn’t uncommon. Not only can HRT alleviate the uncomfortable symptoms of menopause for many women, but it can also rejuvenate their sex lives and self-confidence. For some, like Nikki, this newfound vitality has led to significant changes and challenges in their personal relationships.

HRT is not just a remedy for menopause symptoms but a catalyst for transformation, leading women like Nikki to rediscover their desires and redefine their lives.”

Top of the Crops – Farmers Declared Sexiest Male Profession

* Farmers have been voted the sexiest profession in annual survey

* Doctors and chefs round off the top 3, followed by firemen and footballers

* Politicians rank last with just 1% of women finding them sexy

* Results come from a study conducted by IllicitEncounters.com, the UK’s leading dating website for married people

IllicitEncounters.com, the UK’s leading dating website for married people, surveyed 2000 women to discover which male profession is the sexiest in 2023.

Sex and relationships expert for IllicitEncounters.com, Jessica Leoni has compiled and commented on the results below:

Farmers are top of the crops with 21% of the vote in a survey of the sexiest professions.

It turns out those hard-working, strong-armed farmers are what women want. With the likes of Jeremy Clarkson and Blur bassist Alex James getting involved and reaping the rewards of farming, it’s no surprise ladies can’t resist. Hunter boots and Barbour jackets are in, Savile Row suits and leather brogues are out.

Doctor, Doctor! Unsurprisingly, it’s medics who get women’s pulses racing, coming close second with 16% of the vote. Doctors are officially hot, so if you’re dating one make sure you’ve got some paracetamol to hand and keep that temperature down.

No room left for seconds here, chefs are in respectable third place with 14% of the vote. They say the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach, and it seems the same goes for women.

It’s getting hot in here! Firemen have been voted 4th sexiest profession (12%). It seems the idea of being scooped up into those muscly arms and away from danger is what turns women on.

Setting a good example with a place in the top 5 of the sexiest professions, teachers are awarded with 10% of the vote. With a show of hands, who could resist?!

This one’s put a spanner in the works. Plumbers come in 5th place (8%).

Not making a big impression are influencers, who are 6th overall sexiest profession with 5% of the vote.

Hairdressers didn’t make the cut, with just 4% of the vote and taking 7th place.

Not so sexy, bankers don’t have the appeal they used to with a measly 3% of the vote in 8th place. With the cost of living crisis, inflation and interest rates on the up, it’s no surprise ladies have had enough of all things finance.

Lagging behind in 10th place with just 1% of the vote, politicians won’t be able to talk their way out of this one. All words, no action – can we blame women for wanting more?

Times have changed. Women aren’t as dazzled by fancy suits and power anymore. Physical strength, a nurturing nature and intelligence are now the traits to look out for in an ideal partner.

Hear, Hear, Lawyers, Win the Sexiest Profession of the Year!

* Lawyers have been voted the sexiest profession in annual survey
* Doctors and CEO’s round off the top 3, followed by Builders and Firefighters
* Estate Agents rank last with only 2% of women finding them sexy
* Results come from a study conducted by IllicitEncounters.com, the UK’s leading dating website for married people

IllicitEncounters.com, the UK’s leading dating website for married people, surveyed 2000 women to discover which male profession is the sexiest in 2022.

Sex and relationships expert for IllicitEncounters.com, Jessica Leoni has compiled and commented on the results below:

Will the defendant please rise – the verdict is… guilty! Lawyers are the sexiest profession of the year. Accounting for a whopping 20% of the vote – women find men in the courtroom the sexiest of them all, case closed.

What’s up Doc? We’ve run the diagnostics and the results confirm second sexiest profession are the men in white – Doctors – with 18% of the vote.

CEO’s turn heads with 15% of the vote and in honourable third place.

Can he fix it? Yes, he can! Builders are hot property in fourth sexiest jobs with 12%.

Turn up the heat!  Firefighters come in fifth sexiest (9.5%). On a primal level, a Firefighter is in every woman’s fantasy. The masculine physique, the muscle and sweat combined with raw unbridled passion… okay, a little carried away there, but what’s not to like?

Women think Footballers are fit, scoring sixth place (7%). It’s plain to see that fame and fortune help with sex appeal.

Teachers score seventh sexiest profession (5%), seems the ladies are up for a little bit of detention, naughty.

On the less sexy scale are Financial Advisors with only 3% of the vote in eighth place. Economics? Boring. With everything getting more expensive and people are scrimping for cash – seems we’ve all had enough of talking about money.

999, call the Police! Or don’t for that matter… we’d rather avoid a copper as only 2.5% of women find the five-o sexy. Cops have had a bad rep over the last few years in Britain, with overall confidence in the police dropping year on year since 2017, as reported by the ONS*, it’s clearly had an effect on their desirability.

In last place with 2% of the vote, it seems Estate Agents are a bit of a turn-off. These notorious charmers often misinterpret the facts to get a quick sale, and with rent and house prices continuing to go up it’s no wonder we’re not the biggest fans of these smooth-talking salesmen.

It’s not just ripped, topless men that make the cut, attraction is so much more than that. Sure the physical is important, but women want more than a hunk – and this list makes that fact indisputable.

Lawyers and Doctors coming out on top suggest it takes more than a beefcake to turn a woman on. Confidence, intelligence, philanthropy, and wealth – are more important qualities that make up a man’s sex appeal, and what men do for work speaks volumes.

Doctors and Bartenders are Hot, Coppers are Not – Sexiest Professions Revealed!

* Doctors have been voted the sexiest profession in annual survey

* Bartenders and CEOs rounded off the top 3, followed by footballers and firemen

* Sexy policeman fantasy quashed, as policemen receive a mere 1% of the vote

* Government officials rank second to last with only 3% of women finding them sexy

* Results come from a study conducted by IllicitEncounters.com, the UK’s leading dating website for married people

A doctor, a CEO and a football player walk into a bar, aren’t you spoiled for choice.

IllicitEncounters.com, the UK’s leading dating website for married people, surveyed 2000 women to discover which male profession is the sexiest in 2021.

Sex and relationships expert for IllicitEncounters.com, Jessica Leoni has compiled and commented on the results below:

Doctors scrub up well with nearly a quarter (24%) of women voting this profession as the sexiest of all.

Those who enter the field of medicine tend to be compassionate, skilled and very clever – qualities that women find attractive in a man. Add to that an earning potential of five times the average salary – hard to resist. No doubt doctors have won the hearts of many in the last year with how well they have handled the challenges of Covid-19.

Bartenders, who prescribe a very different kind of tonic, sent pulses racing with 19% of the vote. You might be spilling more than a drink at the bar with lonely patrons spilling their hearts out, bartenders are often free therapy for those in need. Good looks and a listening ear are a recipe for attraction. The masses have largely missed the public house bartender with all the lockdown restrictions – so it’s great to see them come in second sexiest overall.

CEO’s take third place with 15% of the vote, suggesting business men are quite the catch.

Fame and fortune fares well with footballers scoring a handsome 9%, and 4th overal sexiest profession. Football has caused quite a stir recently with the controversial European Super League, though evidently this has not dampened a footballers sex appeal.

The fireman fantasy is well and truly alive, in fifth place, as 8% of women have the hots for a sexy firefighter.

Teachers come in 6th place (6%), followed by builders in 7th place (5%).

Suprisingly personal trainers score low in the list, coming in 8th place with only 4% of women voting this profession as sexy. Perhaps women feel intimidated by the excessive fitness that comes with a chisled physique.

Government officials rank second to last in 9th place with only 3% of the vote. Suggesting politics is not that sexy afteral.

Contrary to popular belief, policemen are not that desirable, coming in 10th and last place with a mere 1% of the vote. With overall confidence in the police dropping year on year since 2017, as reported by the ONS*, it appears less women find this particular man in uniform appealing.
