It seems some men have the luck of the Irish when it comes to the accent department. Women have voted the Irish accent the sexiest in a new poll conducted by leading married dating site IllicitEncounters.com.

Women overwhelmingly found the romantic brogue of such stars as Colin Farrell and Liam Neeson irresistible. The survey of over 6000 members of the dating site also found that men where most likely to be attracted to a woman with an Oxford or so called “posh” accent.

Spokesperson for IllicitEncounters.com Rosie Freeman-Jones commented: “Sometimes it’s not just what you say but how you say it, accents are increasingly becoming highlighted in our members profiles as to set them apart from other potentials. Men with Scottish, West Country and Cockney accents also faired well, meanwhile the least attractive accent for men was a Manchester accent and women with a Birmingham twang also faired poorly in the poll of UK based accents.

Women from Scotland, Wales and Liverpool should also take advantage of their attractive voices however those from Essex and the West Country may not want to promote there vocal region when looking for a date online.

It seems there could be additional advantages when giving chocolate eggs to your partner this easter, as a study by leading married dating site IllicitEncounters.com has revealed that 78% of women say that eating high quality dark chocolate helps get them in the mood for lovemaking.

This isn’t a new phenomenon, chocolate has long been thought of as an aphrodisiac by the Aztecs. Montezuma II was noted for consuming vast quantities of the cocoa bean to fuel his lustful appetite for sex. A study conducted by urologists from Milan’s San Raffaele hospital revealed that women who have a daily intake of chocolate showed higher levels of desire than women who did not have this habit. It also showed that chocolate can have a positive physiological impact on a woman’s sexuality.

The first is tryptophan, which is a key part of serotonin, a brain chemical prevalent in sexual arousal. The Italian study also indicated that even women who normally had a lower libido reported an increase in their sex drive after consuming chocolate, which was backed up by the female members we spoke to in our research.”

Whilst 78% of the 3000 women surveyed said that dark chocolate increased their sexual appetite, 48% said they would be put off a lover if he bought her a ‘cheap’ box of milk chocolates. One member, Sally, 47 from London said; “Chocolate does get me in the mood, but it has to be high quality dark chocolate. There is something very arousing about the way chocolate melts in your mouth, it is one of the most sensual experiences in my opinion.”

There are other good reasons to spend the weekend nibbling away on some chocolate, recently it has been claimed that dark chocolate has antioxidant properties, that is can reduce blood pressure and could even help you loose weight.

Some researchers believe that chocolates aphrodisiac properties are too small to have any measurable effect on desire. However even if the effects are are psychological, and not physiological it is still a good excuse to invest in some good quality chocolate for your lover this easter.

A new study conducted by the UK’s leading married dating site IllicitEncounters.com has revealed the female professions that men find the most attractive, and those that are more likely to find success when it comes to looking for romance online.

The study asked over 2,700 male members of the UK’s largest married dating website what they thought the sexiest profession was for a partner and why. The top result was revealed to be journalists with 27% of the votes, journalists are seen by men as naturally sharp, well spoken, sophisticated and ambitious. The second profession men found sexy were women who are professional chefs (21%), with men describing them as adventurous creative and with excellent taste .

According to the study, the least attractive profession is a reality TV star; men viewed them as vain, self-absorbed and unintelligent.

IllicitEncounters.com spokesperson Rosie Freeman-Jones commented: “Women who are confident and intelligent are seen by men as sexy, Men on the site are looking for women who can stimulate and engage them on an intellectual level as well as a physical one. It appears that the fake tan and aggressive nature of some reality stars may act as a massive turn off to some men. A new study by leading married dating site IllicitEncounters.com has revealed that angling is the excuse that is least likely to be used by cheating husbands as they slip away from their wives.

Over 4000 members of the extra-marital dating site responded to the poll on excuses given to sneak away from their other halves, and fishing came last with just 0.2% of the overall vote. Other low scoring excuses included, visiting the doctors and spending time with an elderly relative. In fact, more men used the excuse of having been arrested than saying they had spent some time trout tickling.

Spokesperson for IllicitEncounters.com Mike Taylor said: “It is interesting that fishing was the least popular excuse, as it would serve as quite a good one. Working Longer Hours Can Lead To An Affair

Spending more hours in the office is leading to a rise in affairs in the workplace according to a recent study by Notatwork.co.uk and married dating site IllicitEncounters.com. The research revealed that people who regularly worked over 45 hours a week are almost 5 times more likely to embark on an extra marital affair.

It estimated that more than seven million people a year in the UK work unpaid extra hours to hold on to their jobs. The study revealed that employees that regularly do more that 50+ hours a week are those working in the Video games industry, financial sector, medicine, journalism, and the emergency services. With all of them having a much higher than average number of work-based affairs.

The most common reason the respondents gave for working longer hours was that workload has increased in recent years and they fear for their jobs, so they work longer hours to make sure they are secure. The video games industry has long had a reputation of having to work long hours with developers doing 12 to 16 hours a day for three to four months at a time, without extra pay due to the belief if they don’t they will be replaced by younger cheaper talent.

Workers can find themselves in the office late at night, exhausted and feeling low and take comfort with a co-worker in the same situation, this can then develop as they spend more time with each other than they are with their spouses. Over 54% of all workers admitted that at some-point in their career they have considered engaging in a work-based affair and this study shows the likelihood of them doing so increases exponentially when working hours are increased.”

Unemployment fell to 2.5 million between October and December last year and there are 580,000 more people in work than a year ago, but staff are being squeezed into working longer hours whilst taking home less, with average earnings growth slowing to just 1.4%, below the 2.7% inflation rate.

Employers need to recognise that squeezing more hours out of their workers is counter-productive in more ways than one. It affects their workers’ morale, their physical and mental well being and as this study has shown, can also be detrimental to their personal relationships. None of those is going to be of any long term benefit to any business.

The study done by the UK’s leading married dating site IllicitEncounters.comfound that the residents of Sussex were over 3 times more likely to spend Valentine’s day with their extra-marital lover or mistress than their husband or wife.

The study into Valentine’s day romance also discovered that having been disappointed or overlooked during previous Valentine’s days and anniversaries, dissatisfied married people are pre-emptively signing up to look for a new lover for February 14th rather than just waiting to be disappointed again.

Is It Time For A More Progressive Pope?

In an announcement today the Vatican said Pope Benedict XVI would resign as head of the Catholic Church at the end of this month. Pope Benedict XVI took charge of the Catholic Church during difficult times but has stood stedfast with his hard line defence of fundamental Christian values in the face of what he had described as moral decline across much of Europe. The number of Catholics actively looking for affairs according to the research done by IllicitEncounters.com was almost twice that of other religious groups. The study showed that 21.5% of the 750,000 members on the extra-marital dating site were Catholic, a shockingly high figure since Roman Catholics make up just 10% of the UK population (YouGov & Cambridge University figures).

A Vatican spokesman said that Pope Benedict XVI has taken the decision to retire “aware of great problems the Church faces today”. One of which will undoubtedly be the continuing liberal moral shift, which during the 1960’s had driven him to become a theological conservative, taking uncompromising positions on homosexuality, adultery, women priests and contraception.

The study asked over 1,500 female members of the UK’s largest married dating website what they thought the sexiest profession was for a partner and why. The top result was revealed to be a musician or artist with 32% of the votes, a profession that embodies passion and creativity, which is in stark contrast to the second highest (24%), which was men who work in the financial service sector, the study describing them as ambitious, confident and intelligent.

According to the study, the least attractive profession was a professional footballer; women viewed them as over-confident, vain, self-absorbed and as having a bad reputation.

The study also examined what men looked for in a new lovers’ personality. The majority responded that they are after a woman who is sexually confident, surprisingly almost twice the number who were looking to meet a partner with the same interests and values as themselves.

Dr Holmes added: “Couples tend to undervalue sex in their relationship and for some it becomes a chore–getting in the way of more important things. Too many marriages are based on convenience, or only being together for the kids. This is not just fertile ground for affairs but almost certainly will result in one if either partner is a passionate person. Couples should take the need for good passionate sex as the focal expression of a relationship more seriously.’
