Over 80% of married people would ditch their spouse on Valentine’s day to date a celebrity

xxdq43yscnk2njhirjw6

Valentine’s day is traditionally a time to spoil your partner or show your love and affection for that special someone – but a shocking 87 per cent of us would in fact ditch our significant other to spend it with a celebrity. Research carried out by leading extramarital dating website,IllicitEncounters.com, shows that a staggering number of married people would neglect their spouse if a better offer was available.

For some it may be the chance to meet an idol or go on a date with the actor or actress of their dreams, for others it’s a chance to escape the monotony of a stale relationship. In 2010 an independent survey conducted by OnePoll and commissioned by IllicitEncounters.com, quizzed over 4,000 married people on their relationship habits finding: 70 per cent of British husbands admitted they are not satisfied with their marriages, and 1 in 4 married Londoners admitted to having at least one affair.

The IllicitEncounters.com 2014 study into Valentine’s day romance also discovered that 67 per cent of married couples have been disappointed during previous Valentine’s days, while 48 per cent of new members admitted they joined specifically to find someone to share Valentine’s day with. 76 per cent of women thought that romance was a big deal on valentine’s day compared to only 52 per cent of men viewing romance as important.

Spokesperson for IllicitEncounters.com, Rosie Freeman-Jones, said: “ Every year we see large numbers of dissatisfied married people pre-emptively signing up around February 14th looking for a new lover. After years of disappointment they would rather spend their time with someone who is actually looking for romance rather than just waiting to be disappointed again.”

So with the past few days showing a large increase in traffic visiting the site, and thousands of new members joining up looking for a date on Friday – it appears it’s not just a famous face that could be taking your other-half for a romantic meal this Valentine’s day.

Women want sex while men just want to talk, reveals new survey

uq8lmvgvjbocbingi26c

A new study by leading extra-marital dating site IllicitEncounters.com has revealed that women are more likely to look for an affair in order to fulfil physical desires, whilst men are looking to make deep emotional connections. The results of the study questioning over 5,789 plus female members shows 72% joined the site because they were unsatisfied with the level of physical intimacy they receive currently within their relationship. Surprisingly, of the majority of the 4,326 plus men questioned, 68% are looking for an emotional or intellectual connection with an illicit lover, rather than just a purely physical one.

Spokesperson for IllicitEncounters.com Mike Taylor said: “People who join Illicit Encounters are all looking for that something missing from their current relationship. For some – the physical side of the relationship is no longer satisfying, for others it’s a total breakdown in communication, while many are craving an intellectual counterpart. The interesting result of this survey is it’s women who are motivated to join due to of a lack of physical intimacy with their partner, rather than a lack of an emotional connection – whereas classically it’s the guys who are viewed as sexually more driven. The roles of females in society have, and still are, massively evolving, and I think this study is only the tip of the iceberg in that sense.”

One female member, Sophia from London, commented: “I joined the website after my relationship broke down with my husband and he was no longer attracted to me, we still get on great as friends and I am not looking to replace him, but I also need to feel wanted and sexually desirable for my self confidence and personal needs.”

Women today are more career focused, ambitious and independent than ever so they are certainly not going to sit back and do nothing if their sex life is failing – they take the lead and go after what they want. Today’s man is more in tune and open about his mental needs in order to be happy. It’s not longer a taboo for men to express their sensitive side, the need to feel appreciated and stimulated mentally – and in a failing marriage it’s the guys who are longing to connect with a female who understands them as a whole person.

That’s an expensive bit on the side…

hqzvow3nerio488qzwps

As the nation settles down to watch the much-loved Christmas movie, Love Actually, during this festive period, one scene will ring especially true to a lot of philandering men.

Emma Thompson’s character discovers that the expensive-looking necklace she spied her husband, Alan Rickman, buying was not actually for her, she’s been given a CD.

Shocking results have revealed that this is far from unusual. Three quarters of men questioned who use the dating website, Illicit Encounters, spend two thirds more on their mistress’ Christmas present than their wives’.

The statistics, taken from a survey of male members, discovered that an average of £173 is splurged on mistress’ presents, compared to £115 spent on their spouse’s gift.

The infidelity prone men were asked to describe the type of Christmas gift they purchased for their mistress and their Mrs and not surprisingly, the majority admitted to choosing something ‘sexy’ or ‘thoughtful’ for their mistress, whilst their wives were not so lucky – most confessing to buying something ‘practical’ or ‘useful for the home’.

Spokesperson for Illicit Encounters, Ava Cooper says: “The difference in the sort of gifts men choose to buy for their mistress and wives mirror the different ways married men often view these two relationships.

“Men often see their mistresses as playing more ‘surface’, decorative roles in their lives, providing sex and affection without much emotional attachment.

“This explains why mistresses receive less practical and more ‘pretty’ gifts.

“On the other side of the coin, a man’s relationship with his wife, after time, becomes less about being pretty and more about being practical – the bigger issues of mortgages and maintenance overtake the seemingly less important things like romance.

“The less a husband thinks of his wife as a sexual being, the more functional and ‘unsexy’ his gifts will become.”

The Christmas season, despite traditionally being a time for family, is when infidelity is rife with over half of members questioned admitting to spending an ‘illicit Christmas Day’ with their lover – most saying today – Friday 20th December is the day they choose to spend together.

One female member, who has been on Illicit Encounters for just over 18 months and said: “I’ve experienced two Christmases while I’ve been on this site and both times my lover and I have escaped to a hotel for the day. I have been given diamond earrings as gifts and am always spoilt by my lovers with expensive underwear and champagne. It’s the day I look forward to most throughout the whole year as I know I’ll be made to feel like a princess.”

According to Illicit Encounters, with over 850,000 members (that’s over 5% of the British public’s married population), Christmas and the New Year is their busiest season, where they experience a rise of 200-300% in activity and new members joining.

The Rise of the ‘Costanova’! The coffee shop adulterer

fvhcld5ac6x4nlw6jlex

With the economic purse strings tightening, philanderers are feeling the pinch shunning their traditional restaurant dates of the past, making coffee houses the top destination for illicit trysts.

The UK’s largest married dating site IllicitEncounters.com is reporting a clear rise in the number of members ditching the traditional evening meal first date, and instead opting to meet for an coffee. In 2011 a survey of the sites members showed that an overwhelming 73% would opt of a first date over dinner, where as a survey of the sites 800,000 members in 2013 showed that now 64% of members would now rather have a first date in a coffee shop.

Spokesperson for IllicitEncounters.com, Mike Taylor Said; “I think our members have become more relaxed about going on dates over the last few years. The playing field has levelled out and it is no longer about trying to overly impress a date with fine dining and expensive wine. People want to make real connections and find someone like-minded, in a similar situation.”

One member Sophia said; “It’s all about chemistry between two people, I don’t think it matters where you meet. After spending some time getting to know your date online when you do meet you know pretty quickly if it’s going to progress, and if it is who wants the inconvenience of having to get through dinner to get to dessert.”

It seems some men may have also been studying up on the opposite sex, as research by Southwestern University actually proved that coffee has some additional properties – for females. Coffee stimulates a part of the brain that dictates arousal, boosting a women’s sex drive. So it seems a coffee shop could be the ideal date location after all!

Make it work…just not at work

hbmvpknup5vamnzfrvta

Recent revelations that former News of the World editors, Rebecca Brooks and Andy Coulson embarked on a six-year affair has proven that dipping your toe in the office ink is not always the best move.

In a recent survey, leading extra-marital affairs website, IllicitEncounters.com found that 37% of workers admitted they had dated a co-worker at some point in their career, with 17% saying they had done it more than twice.

Ava Cooper, spokesperson for IllicitEncounters.com explained: “It is easy to see why the number of employees getting together is increasing when you think about a number of factors. In the current economic climate, people are working longer hours than ever, spending more time in the office, giving them the chance to become closer to their colleagues.

“The reasons why many married people end up having affairs in the workplace is not just because they want to have a bit of mindless fun and that they’re bored with their spouses but many people become emotionally attached to those they are spending a lot of time with and seeing five days a week. They get to know each other very well on business trips, lunches or at regular meetings. Often those who get together can be dealing with the same stresses at the same time giving them common ground. It’s easy to see why so many married people fall into the trap of starting an affair with a colleague.

“However, the potential full out when an office affair goes wrong can be nothing short of nuclear. It is as ill advised and as dangerous as having an affair with your neighbour. So many things can go wrong and in many cases people can lose their jobs due to poor judgment in their choice of lover – it’s a like an accident waiting to happen.”

Illicit Encounters is the UK market leader with over 800,000 members, which is nearing 6% of the married population. The site offers married people online dating as the solution to the issue of affairs in the workplace.

Tribunals in recent years have been speckled with a large number of affairs at work that have turned ugly, resulting in bad press for the company and large costs to the business. In fact, many businesses have even enforced a strictly no affairs at work policy, which brought it’s way over from the US – named a morality code. IllicitEncounters.com has a huge number of members who have decided to go online as a result of the negative affects of conducting an affair in the workplace.

Ava Cooper added: “With both tablets and smartphones being encouraged in the workplace and with the recession causing people to work these longer hours, the growing trend of people seeking online encounters during office hours is likely to continue. It’s the secrecy, the naughtiness as well as the fact that they have no need to worry about their spouses catching them that will lead to this type of behaviour.”

People in the UK and Europe also work the longest hours, which has lead to an increase in extra-marital affairs in the workplace according to a 2012 study by Notatwork.co.uk. Results show that 82% of the 54% who have admitted having an office affair work over the UK average of 42.7 hours per week. When asked for the reasons behind the longer work hours, the answer that received the highest (45%) out of the five responses was that ‘the workload has increased in recent years due to redundancies within the workplace.’

Of all the professions listed, those in finance (31%), medicine (24%) and journalism (19%) worked the longest hours. The research, however, also revealed that those in the media industry, which was the fourth industry in the top ten, had had the most office-based affairs. The majority of those who embarked on an affair on a business trip were those in the finance sector, with 47% admitting to pursuing a colleague over a drink after entertaining clients.

Note to editors:

Of the 44.9 million adults usually resident in England & Wales in mid-2010, 48.2 per cent were married = 21,641,800 married people in UK

23.33% of married people don’t work with others (survey with OnePoll and Illicit Encounters taken by 4,000 married people in the UK). Thus 76.67% who work with others in the UK are married.

76.67% of 21,641,800 = 16,592,768 in the UK are married and work with others

7.137% women and 7.874% of men have cheated at work (39% of 18.3% and 31% of 25.4%)

= Almost 1.2million married women and over 1.3 million married men have cheated at work

Is Renewable Marriage The Answer To UK’s Marriage Crisis?

z24ybg8ro3oxuw5farm7

The UK’s leading affair dating website is seeking a parliamentary debate about the future of modern marriage. With the high rate of divorce, an increase of people choosing not to marry and hundreds of thousands of unhappy spouses joining dating sites looking for affairs, IllicitEncounters.com is campaigning for the UK government to introduce renewal dates on marriages.

The controversial proposal has been put forward by the dating site whose purpose is to help unhappily married people find other unfulfilled married people to have affairs with.

A new independent study conducted by Atomik research revealed that over one third of people believe they married the wrong person. In addition, further research conducted by IliicitEncounters.com discovered over 59% of married people feel the marriage system is outdated and nearly a third would support a renewable marriage lasting between 5-8 years.

The site has written an open letter to both members of parliament and religious leaders. The letter is proposing a review of the current marriage laws and hopes to introduce a time limit on the validity of a marriage contract. The site is claiming that its purpose would “spare incompatible couples the expense of lengthy divorce proceedings and the social stigma and emotional trauma consciously uncoupling can cause.”

Spokesperson for the campaign and IllicitEncounters.com Mike Taylor commented; “Marriage should be just like a passport or driver’s license. If individuals are not interested in renewing it, then it expires. If something isn’t working people don’t just live with it. People are more than willing to change their car or washing machine if it has stopped working, why would they stay in a marriage that isn’t working if they weren’t being forced to stay due to financial burdens?”

IllicitEcounters.com maintains it is a pragmatic solution to solving the infidelity epidemic and stopping people who are trapped in unhappy marriages having to look outside them for fulfillment. These days, as Mike Taylor points out, “Those who can’t afford a divorce just suffer indefinitely.”

The site is asking supporters to write to their MP to ask for their support and are providing an open letter on the campaigns website:  www.yestorenewablemarriage.com you can also sign the petition direct at epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/71446

The campaign expects opposition from both the Church of England and the Catholic Church who have been at the forefront of opposing Illicit Encounters proposals. However the site welcomes the healthy debate as it has large amounts of members from both faiths, and is certain they will be writing to their church leaders to voice support for the campaign.

With one in ten couples having them, should we really be shocked by affairs?

zshmdsrnpfq5l1fhk99a

It may seem as if there is currently a tidal wave of affairs hitting the headlines, however the UK’s leading extra-marital dating website is reporting that an affair is happening within one in ten marriages – and that’s just on one dating site.

IllicitEncounters.com, the UK’s largest extra-marital dating website, is celebrating its tenth year this year, and over the last ten years the site has seen consistent growth in the number of people looking to engage in an affair. With over 850,000 members, approximately 6% of the UK’s married population are logging on in search of an extra-marital tryst.

Spokesperson for IllicitEncounters.com, Ava Cooper commented: “I think that everyone can think of someone in their friendship circle who has been unfaithful? Having spoken with the members on the site, I understand the reasons why people look for intimacy outside of their relationship, and the changes in attitudes towards people who have committed adultery has been staggering over the past 10 years. Illicit Encounters started ten years ago to give married people a safe and secure environment to rediscover romance and passion with other like minded individuals, and most importantly – not to judge. It seems that whilst having an affair may still be as taboo as it was ten years ago, more people are understanding of why people may do it.”

Music and Film legends, Sport stars, Royalty and President’s have long been condemned in public for committing adultery, however a change has taken place with celebrities talking openly about the challenges marriage. Gwyneth Paltrow, recently spoke publicly on her understanding of extra marital affairs saying: “I am a great romantic – but I also think you can be a romantic and a realist.
Life is complicated and long and I know people that I respect and admire and look up to who have had extra-marital affairs.
It’s like we’re flawed – we’re human beings and sometimes you make choices that other people are going to judge.”

Research conducted by IllicitEncounters.com in 2006 showed that only one in eight couples would try and work through an affair; in 2013 the same study revealed that number had over halved – with just one in three couples willing to put in the extra effort required work through an infidelity. The same study showed that in 2006, 82% of people thought that having an affair was the worst thing their partner could do in a relationship, while the 2013 study showed only 57% said infidelity was the worst thing they could do.

Could the scariest thing this Halloween be how sexy your other half is dressing?

xnskoaccnymqbj23oo9z

Research from the UK’s largest married dating site IllicitEncounters.com has revealed that women who are having, or are looking for an extra-marital tryst were far more likely to dress in a more risqué manner.

The survey of 10,000 female members of IllicitEncounters.com showed that an overwhelming number of adulteresses felt more comfortable dressing in sexy outfits since joining the site.

Spokesperson for IllicitEncounters.com, Rosie Freeman-Jones commented: “Halloween is an opportunity to dress up in an outrageously sexy manner without feeling exposed. Anything from PVC cat suits to a naughty nurse outfit is acceptable over Halloween, and for ladies this means they can show their overtly sexual side, without being questioned by their spouses. As much as they may long to whip out the suspenders and PVC on a regular Thursday night, their husbands would surely question their motivation, whereas their lovers would relish the show. Halloween allows a little bit of freedom and the chance to be more daring and liberated.”

A surprising 77% of the women surveyed said that they would be dressing in a more risqué manner this Halloween compared to the last few years. 74% of female members also disclosed that since joining the site they had more confidence, 89% said they felt more attractive and 49% would now be more likely to make the first move when meeting a guy they like.

So if your other-halves’ fancy dress costume has gone from bed sheet ghost to a sexy vampire, be warned it could be more than just fun she is looking for at this year’s Halloween party.

Meanwhile over two thirds of the male members on the site said they would most likely dress as an “attractive movie star” rather than something frightening or something less attractive, with the majority of men either opting for the ‘Top Gun’ or ‘superhero’ look this Halloween in order to enhance their looks.

Luxury Chocolate Brands Could Give Illicit Lovers A Boost

Leading UK Married Dating Site Reveals That Eating High Quality Chocolate Could Improve Your Sex Life!

A study by the UK’s leading dating site for married people, IllicitEncounters.com, has revealed that 78% of women say eating dark chocolate can put them in the mood for love making.

This week is National Chocolate Week – and apart from the obvious joy of indulging in a moment of cocoa bliss, there are many additional advantages to our sex drive, and our health when we eat dark chocolate.

When taking a bite of chocolate ladies will be feeling the benefits of L-arginine, this amino acid can be an effective natural sex-enhancer for both women and men. It works by increasing nitric oxide and promoting blood flow to your sexual organs.

78% of the 4,000 women IllicitEncounters.com surveyed said that dark chocolate increased their sexual appetite. 48% said they would be put off if a lover bought her a ‘cheap’ box of milk chocolates.

Spokesperson for IllicitEncounters, Ava Cooper adds: “The sexual effects of chocolate are not just limited to the ‘Cadbury’s Flake moment’ whilst relaxing in the bath. The ancient beliefs of The Aztecs regarding the aphrodisiac quality of chocolate are based within science. Chocolate contains the compound theobromine, also found in tea and kola nuts, the substance works on the central nervous system, causing one to feel stimulated and excited – which was backed up by the female members we spoke to in our research.”

One member: Sally, 47, from London said: “Chocolate does get me in the mood, but it has to be high quality dark chocolate. There is something very arousing about the way chocolate melts in your mouth, it is one of the most sensual experiences in my opinion.”

Before you head down to Hotel Chocolat and stock up on candies with a night of passion hot on your agenda, remember if you’re going to indulge in chocolate regularly – dark chocolate is the best. Make your choice as pure and unsweetened as possible. Be good to yourself and stick to the quality brands such as Green and Blacks or Lindt, and your lover will thank you.

The UK’s Leading married dating website IllicitEncounters.com

IllicitEncounters.com is the UK’s largest and longest running dating site for married people. With over 800,000 members across the UK, you’re sure to find your perfect match.

Established in 2003, we have been providing a meeting place for like-minded married and attached people for nearly 10 years. Our members have one thing in common – they are all looking for a little romance outside their current relationship. Whether that’s the occasional bit of flirtatious chat, a regular coffee date, or a full-blown affair, that’s up to them.
