“My husband hired a private investigator to uncover my affair – but I was too clever to get caught”

* Emma, 41, from London, has been having an affair with a man she met on extramarital dating site IllicitEncounters.com for over a year, but managed to outsmart both her jealous husband and a private investigator he secretly hired to catch her.
* Aware of her husband’s suspicions, Emma carefully covered her tracks – using fake work commitments, a second phone, and a trusted friend as an alibi – to ensure no evidence of her affair was ever found.
* With more people hiring ‘love rat’ investigators, experts warn that paranoia over cheating is growing, but even the most thorough detective work can’t always uncover well-hidden affairs.

Paranoia over cheating is gripping the nation as suspicious spouses increasingly turn to private investigators to spy on their partners. But while some uncover shocking affairs, others are left red-faced when their hired detectives come up empty-handed.

One woman, Emma, 41, from London, discovered that her husband secretly paid a ‘love rat’ investigator to follow her – only to find nothing, despite the fact that she has been having an affair for over a year with a man she met on extramarital dating site IllicitEncounters.com.

“It wasn’t something I planned,” Emma confesses. “Joe* and I had been drifting apart for years. We were more like roommates than husband and wife. When I stumbled across IllicitEncounters, it was out of curiosity at first. But then I met Alex*, and everything changed.”

Emma’s lover is everything her husband isn’t – adventurous, spontaneous, and wildly attentive. What started as a casual fling quickly turned into something deeper, and Emma found herself falling for him. “I knew it was wrong, but I couldn’t help myself,” she says. “For the first time in years, I felt desired and alive. I wasn’t ready to give that up.”

But keeping the affair under wraps wasn’t easy. Her husband had always been the jealous type, and Emma’s sudden changes in behaviour – late nights at work, mysterious phone calls, and a renewed interest in her appearance – didn’t go unnoticed.

“He started questioning everything,” Emma recalls. “Why was I working late so often? Why was I suddenly going to the gym every day? He even accused me outright of having an affair, but I denied it. I knew I had to be smarter if I was going to keep my secret.”

She created a fake work project to explain her late nights, used a second phone to communicate with Alex, and even enlisted a friend to cover for her when she needed an alibi. “I was always one step ahead,” she says. “I knew Joe was watching me, so I made sure there was nothing for him to find.”

But Joe wasn’t just relying on his own instincts. Convinced Emma was hiding something, he hired a private investigator to follow her. “I had no idea at first,” Emma admits. “But looking back, there were signs – a car that seemed to follow me a few times, a stranger hanging around near my office. I realised what was happening and doubled down on my efforts to stay under the radar.”

Emma’s meticulous planning paid off. The private investigator, unable to find any concrete evidence of her affair, eventually told Joe he was wrong. “Joe actually apologised to me,” Emma says with a hint of guilt. “He said he’d been paranoid and that he trusted me. It was a weird feeling – relief mixed with guilt. I knew I was lying to him, but I also knew I wasn’t ready to end things with Alex.”

For Emma, the affair isn’t just about sex – it’s about reclaiming a part of herself she thought she’d lost. “I love Joe, but our relationship had become so stale,” she explains. “With Alex, I feel like the woman I used to be – confident, sexy, and alive. I know it’s selfish, but I’m not ready to give that up. I’m living in the moment,” she says. “I know it’s not sustainable, but for now, I’m happy. And as long as I’m careful, no one has to get hurt.”

Relationship experts say Emma’s case is not unusual, with private investigators reporting a surge in demand from people desperate to confirm their worst fears about their partners.

Jessica Leoni, a sex and relationships expert at IllicitEncounters.com, says trust issues in relationships are at an all-time high. “Social media, dating apps, and websites like ours have made it easier than ever to have an affair, but they’ve also created a culture of suspicion. People are more paranoid than ever, and instead of communicating with their partners, they’re turning to private investigators for answers.”

However, Leoni warns that even the best detective work doesn’t always guarantee the truth. “The reality is that many affairs – especially those conducted through discreet platforms like IllicitEncounters – are almost impossible to trace. If someone is clever enough, they won’t leave a trail.”

Over half of women are turning to psychics to catch cheating partners, study finds

* A new study has revealed that women are turning to the spirit world for answers to their relationship woes.

* 52% of women have sought help from psychics and clairvoyants in the hope of discovering whether their partner is being unfaithful.

* Of those, 68% said their suspicions about their partner’s infidelity were confirmed and 61% of those who spoke with psychics reported feeling more anxious and insecure after a reading.

* 1 in 5 women revealed they avoid seeing psychics completely, fearing they’ll discover the worst.

* Study conducted by IllicitEncounters.com, the UK’s largest extramarital dating site.

Forget hiring a private detective or trawling through phones, a growing number of suspicious women are turning to the supernatural for answers when it comes to matters of the heart. A new study has revealed that psychics are becoming the go-to detectives for uncovering infidelity.

According to a survey by the UK’s largest extramarital dating site, IllicitEncounters.com, a whopping 83% of the 1,500 female members polled have questioned their partner’s fidelity at some point in their relationship.

Traditionally, people have turned to private investigators or relied on tech to uncover the truth. But, it seems the digital age is giving way to a more mystical approach.

In fact, more than half (52%) sought guidance from psychics to validate their concerns about their partner. And for 68% of them, those crystal-ball gazing sessions confirmed their suspicions.

While some found the answers they were seeking, not everyone walked away feeling better. In fact, 61% of women who used psychic services reported feeling more anxious and insecure about their relationships afterward.

Jessica Leoni, sex and relationships expert at IllicitEncounters.com commented, “It’s fascinating to see the rise in women turning to psychics for answers about infidelity.

It’s a trend that highlights the deep need for certainty and validation in relationships. When people feel their relationship is at risk, they’ll often go to great lengths to find the truth, even if it means consulting the mystical world.”

Interestingly, of the 52% who turned to psychics for relationship advice, Scots are the most likely to want clarity, with 43% admitting to seeking supernatural guidance. This is compared to 31% in England, 16% in Wales, and just 10% in Northern Ireland.

Caroline from Aberdeen, a user of the married dating site who took part in the survey, said, “I suspected my partner was being unfaithful for quite some time. I tried everything: checking his phone, analysing his behaviour, even installing a tracking app (which, by the way, I’m not proud of). Frustrated and desperate for answers, I booked a session with a local psychic.

During the reading, she revealed details about my partner’s recent activities and it all just added up. Armed with this new insight and confirmation that he was cheating on me, I actually didn’t confront him. Instead, I decided to get back at him by having my own affair.

I never imagined I’d find out the truth through a psychic, but in the end, it gave me the closure I needed.”

Cat-ching cheats: Cat owners more likely to stray in a relationship

* Survey reveals 29% of cheaters own a cat, making them the most likely to cheat

* Findings coincide with International Cat Day – 8th August

* Fish (21%) and rabbit (16%) owners also made it into the top three

* Study conducted by IllicitEncounters.com, the UK’s largest extramarital dating site

It’s official: there’s a new way of discovering if your partner is unfaithful. Forget detective work; checking phones and messages is old news. Now, keep an eye out for one critical detail: whether they have a feline friend!

IllicitEncounters.com, the UK’s top dog when it comes to married dating sites, found that nearly a third of the 2000 members polled own cats, making them by far the most unfaithful pet owners.

You might want to keep an eye on your partner if they own fish too, with 21% of cheaters polled owning an underwater friend, using their smooth-talking skills and deception to swim through tricky situations without getting caught.

Rabbit owners made it into the top three, with 16% of cheaters declaring they’ve got a bunny at home, and in the meantime they’re bed-hopping behind their partner’s back.

Ironically, rat and mice owners have been found to be the most faithful, with just 4% of loverats having one at home.

Cat owner, Sarah from Newcastle, who took part in the survey said “I’ve always been a bit of a cat woman. I just feel like I relate to them so well: I’m confident, independent and like to strut my stuff. I suppose I like being the centre of attention too, and since my husband works non-stop these days, I’ve turned to my lover to fill that void.”

Jessica Leoni, IllicitEncounters.com’s sex and relationships expert commented, “It’s funny how behaviour in pets often mirrors that of their owners. Cats sometimes come across as aloof and unaffectionate due to their independent nature, which can be viewed as a lack of loyalty. With fewer displays of attachment and obedience, it seems cat owners are taking a leaf out of their feline’s way of life.

Next time you find yourself having a discussion with your partner about which animal you want for pet children, push for a mouse and be wary if they propose having a pussy at home. With tomorrow being International Cat Day, partners of those four-legged purrers might want to be extra vigilant.”
