Boom in Mistress Cards as Valentine’s Day Approaches!

ne2dxtseqqfyvjtum3la

IllicitEncounters.com has added a range of Valentine’s Cards to their successful series of Mistress Cards celebrating ADULTERY. The new range of Mistress Cards launched by the UK’s largest married dating site ahead of Valentine’s Day has instantly become an unlikely bestseller, with 2.6 being sold every minute.

E-cards can be sent by email for free from Mistresscards.com or printed versions of the cards cost £2.50 and can be ordered online. Most of the cards are aimed at men although others are aimed at married women to send to their lovers – or Histresses. The decision to launch the range came after a survey found married men spend 23% more on Valentine’s gifts for their mistresses than their wives.

The poll, which surveyed 2,000 IE male members, found married men spent an average of £147.60 on Valentine’s gifts for their lovers compared to just £120 on their spouse. Mistress gifts were also more likely to be more sensual, like lingerie, champagne or chocolates, compared to practical gifts for their wives, like a phone upgrade or a new purse.

The best-selling Mistress card says:

Roses are red, Violets are Blue, It’s a good thing my wife doesn’t know I’m screwing you

The second best-selling card says:

‘I want you as my mistress to brighten up my life,

Please overlook that I have a wife.

My relationship’s ending, some would say dead

So let’s have some dinner and end up in bed.’

The cards can be sent from any email address and arrive to the recipient immediately.

“What we’re seeing in this product popularity is how much men value their mistresses,” said psychologist Lucy Redford, “Receiving a card for Valentine’s Day can mean a lot to a mistress, someone who is stereotypically seen as the second most important, after the wife. It’s really a small thing that means something huge – that they’re important. It validates them and makes them think they’re on their lover’s mind. Fundamentally, that’s what we all crave – to feel important and validated.”

“We are absolutely delighted with sales figures.” Claire Page, spokesperson for IllicitEncounters.com said, “We launched the cards Monday morning at 9am and by Tuesday morning, we had sales of over 3,600. There’s 1440 minutes in a day, so that means there are 2.6 sold every minute. I am not surprised in the slightest that the cards have been such a hit – they’re proof of how much men on our site treasure their mistresses. One woman sent an email to me this morning and said she had received a mistress card from her lover along with a beautiful Tiffany necklace! A lot of men value their relationship with their mistress more than their marriage but for some reason or another –financial, family, personal or health – they cannot leave the marriage. Our mistresses love being treated like this, it’s really the best of both worlds: receiving all the excitement of being spoilt and treated like a princess, without the hassle of a relationship.”

‘Fishing’ is voted the number one worst excuse for affairs!

joccineki3ieuu8rvdzu

According to new research released today by Illicit Encounters, the UK’s top married dating site, the top excuse people get caught out on when having an affair is ‘I’m going fishing’, followed quickly by ‘going to the library’ and ‘going to play darts’.

2,000 Illicit Encounters members were asked what the worst excuse was their spouse gave them when sneaking off with their lovers and out of a list of 40 options, including ‘I’m going to the bank’, ‘I need to get the car serviced’ and ‘I’m getting my eyes tested’; ‘I’m going fishing’ came out on top with 28% of the votes.

When this 28% (541 people) were asked ‘Why do you think your spouse is not fishing?’ the top six reasons were –

  • 1)The weather is too bad for fishing
  • 2)We don’t live near a lake/the sea/a river
  • 3)They don’t even own a fishing rod!
  • 4)They’ve got no interest in fishing
  • 5)They fish very late
  • 6)They don’t answer their phone when they go ‘fishing’

“What’s most shocking about this research is the feeble excuses people make when having affairs – some of them are so transparent!” Claire Page, spokesperson for Illicit Encounters said, “One would think that people would go to more of an effort to be discrete when they’re sneaking off. Perhaps they think they’re convincing, perhaps the marriage has become so stale that they don’t care, or perhaps women can read their husbands better than they think and can tell when they’re lying.

“The biggest irony about this research is that escapism is associated with fishing, but this is the main reason people have affairs too – because they want escapism from their mundane, stale marriages.”

When the 2,000 IE members were asked what would be a better excuse, the top five suggestions were:

  • 1)I’m going to football training
  • 2)I’m working late
  • 3)I’m going to the gym
  • 4)I’m volunteering for a local charity
  • 5)I’m meeting my friends in the pub

Red Tuesday: The Top Dumping Day of the Year is Four Days before Valentine’s Day!

f8dlbm8jpkk6ilnakcou

‘Red Tuesday’ is the top dumping day of the year, just four days before Valentine’s Day, according to new research released today by IllicitEncounters.com, the UK’s top married dating website. 3,000 people were surveyed on Illicit Encounters and one in five – 22% – had broken up with someone the week before Valentine’s Day. Dumping someone electronically is also rising in popularity with most people breaking up with someone over their phone.

The top six ways people chose to dump their partners were:

  • 1)By text (31%)
  • 2)By phone call (28%)
  • 3)In person (27%)
  • 4)Over Facebook (8%)
  • 5)By Whatsapp (4%)
  • 6)Over Twitter (2%)

The period between Christmas and February is always a popular time for people to spring clean their love lives as well as their homes, but there is a sharp increase in people breaking up with their partners four days before Valentine’s Day.

22% of people surveyed had admitted to breaking up with someone the week before Valentine’s Day, with the majority (473 of the 660) saying they made a clean break four days before the festival of love.

“There are many different reasons people make such a drastic decision so close to Valentine’s Day,” said psychologist Lucy Redford, “Some people realise how much they don’t love someone with the romanticism in the air; some buckle under the pressure of committing; others think they can probably do better if they’re not happy and because Valentine’s Day is a national celebration, it’s hard to ignore. For a lot of couples, the 14th February brings them closer together and makes them realise how in love they are. For others, it’s a reminder of the cracks in their relationship. A lot of people cannot bear to be false and celebrate something that doesn’t exist, so they break up beforehand. It might seem quite cruel but it’s very emotionally damaging for a person to be in a relationship that’s not giving them anything positive. Staying when it’s not working can be a lot more toxic in the long run than going your separate ways.”

“Last year we had a record number of new members joining the site the week before Valentine’s Day,” said Claire Page, spokesperson for Illicit Encounters, “This is without a doubt due to the amount of people who have been dumped before Valentine’s Day and don’t want to be alone on the 14th, as well as the inflation of people who want to make a change if they’re in a stale relationship. We all have a fundamental need to feel important, loved and valued. If you’re not happy, do something about it – have an affair!”

English are self-conscious about their Wobbly bits while Scottish Believe they’re Supermodels!

bmlees5jnvav6kfnwhmi

New research released today by Illicit Encounters showed that the English are far more self-conscious than the Scottish. Only 17% of the 2,000 English surveyed put the word ‘athletic’ on their online dating profile, while a staggering 53% of the 1,800 Scottish would describe their build as ‘athletic’.

The research, which was carried out on 3,800 Illicit Encounters members, surveyed the difference between the confidence levels of the Scottish and English.

When the English were asked ‘Why wouldn’t you describe yourself as athletic?’ the top reason was ‘I think I am overweight’, with 34% of the votes, while ‘I don’t like the way I look since I’ve had children’ came in second with 30%, ‘I am not as toned as I used to be’ came in third place with 21%, and ‘I don’t have enough time to work out’ came in fourth with 15% of the votes.

The Scottish who describe themselves as ‘athletic’ were asked what their favourite feature was about themselves. The top three responses were ‘my arms’ (39%), ‘my bum’ (36%), and ‘my abs’ (22%).

“The results of the survey were very interesting,” said Dr. Lucy Redford, “The majority of the Scottish surveyed have described themselves as ‘athletic’ despite the fact that 62.6% of 16-64 year olds are medically overweight or obese in Scotland, costing the NHS over £600 million a year. In comparison, 60% of people in England between the ages of 16 and 64 are overweight or obese. This isn’t a healthy figure either by any means, but it’s interesting that the vast majority of the surveyed Scottish people would call themselves athletic even though the vast majority of people in Scotland are overweight or obese.”

Research found that those who have the word ‘athletic’ in their profiles get an average of 127% more traffic than those who don’t have it on their profile, proving that confidence in itself is incredibly attractive to both men and women.

“Just because someone doesn’t describe themselves as athletic, it doesn’t mean they’re not in good shape,” said Claire Page, spokesperson for Illicit Encounters, “Often, people are too afraid to use the word ‘athletic’ in their profile in case people think they’re built like Arnold Schwarzenegger or as ripped as Jessica Ennis. They’re afraid to cause disappointment when they meet up with their date. It’s a classic case of low self-esteem, which is why so many people look to have affairs in the first place – to seek validation if they’re no longer getting it from their partners. We all have a fundamental need to feel important, wanted and valued by someone else.”

Brit on the Side – Why British women are targeting Irish men to have Affairs with!

h6ozwshdm3bobzq5xybw

The Irish have long been labelled the most attractive people in the world – the funniest, friendliest and most charming race complete with an accent that’s an aphrodisiac abroad, but new research by married dating website IllicitEncounters.com has revealed that British women are having affairs with Irish men, for reasons beyond a lilt.

2,000 surveyed women in the UK were asked ‘what’s the best race to have an Illicit Encounter with?’ and out of the thirty race options, including French, Italian, Spanish, Greek and English, Irish came out on top with 23% of votes. The top three reasons were 1) ‘Irish men make me laugh’ 2) ‘Irish men are very discrete’ 3) ‘Irish men are charming.’

Although 460 women said the Irish were the best race to have an affair with, only 11% (50.6 women) would leave their husbands for them. London was the number 1 destination for a weekend rendezvous, with more anonymity in a larger city, while Manchester came in second and Edinburgh came in third.

“The results of this survey are extremely interesting” said Claire Page, spokesperson for Illicit Encounters, “Everyone enjoys themselves around someone who can make them laugh. A sense of humour, which comes naturally to Irish men, is almost irresistible. Charms gets you everywhere! Most people are very good at making themselves look good at dinner parties but Oscar Wilde was good at making others feel good. Everyone wants to feel important and this is exactly what Irish men tend to do – make women feel important. It’s not difficult to see why British women are falling over themselves to have an affair with an Irish man!”

Psychologist Lucy Redford said the Irish were so desirable because they were so attractive, not necessarily because of their appearance – “Good looks are purely physical attributes – in men, it’s a matter of facial symmetry, shoulder-to-waist ratio, height and outward signs of physical health. Attractiveness on the other hand, is about the mind, and how people respond to you. Being attractive is about charisma and the way you make people feel; in fact, a study from Webster University found that it was behaviour that attracted people rather than just physical looks.”

“Another interesting result was that the Irish men came out on top as most discrete,” said Dr. Redford “This could be because they’re less attached to the women they’re having affairs with and discretion could be a natural bi-product of a long-distance relationship.”

40,700 Irish people emigrated in 2014 – a fall from the 89,000 searching for their fortunes abroad in 2013.

Chefs create the food of love – the no.1 best skill is cooking in affairs!

qqn33dld4xkpaxoaa79f

The ability to cook a good meal is the most desirable skill in an extra marital partner, according to a recent survey by Illicit Encounters, the UK’s top married dating site. 500 women were asked ‘what’s the most vital skillset for your potential partner – DIY, playing a musical instrument, speaking in public, dancing, speaking a foreign language, or cooking a good meal?’ The ability to stimulate taste buds came out on top!

“The result of our survey proves that the old saying ‘the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach’ also applies to women.” Claire Page, spokesperson for Illicit Encounters said, “People who seek affairs also seek escapism from their often boring, mundane lives. Both husbands and wives in stale marriages can begin to resent their partner if they have to do the bulk a chore they don’t enjoy, such as cooking. It can naturally become a huge priority for them that their new partner has cooking skills so they don’t have to do the cooking themselves.”

The research also found that over 78% (394) of the surveyed women on IllicitEncounters.com would like to be wined and dined at least once a week, and 315 of these women would prefer home-made meals.

“There are many different reasons these women prefer home-made meals. Firstly, it’s less time in public at cafes and restaurants, which means more discretion. Secondly, for health and vanity reasons because home-made meals are generally healthier and contain less calories because you know and control what’s going into them. Thirdly, it shows that you’ve put more effort into the meal, cooking it yourself rather than just going to a restaurant and getting someone else to do the work. Women want to feel wanted and important. Knowing someone’s gone to the trouble of cooking something from scratch – that in itself is an aphrodisiac!”

The top ten meals women wanted were:

  • 1) Full English breakfast
  • 2) Shepherd’s pie
  • 3) Beef stew
  • 4) Lasagne
  • 5) Chicken Fajitas
  • 6) Spicy tacos
  • 7) Roast chicken and vegetables
  • 8) Spaghetti bolognaise
  • 9) Fish and chips
  • 10)Chicken Caesar salad

The top ten desserts were:

  • 1) Chocolate brownies
  • 2) Chocolate fondant
  • 3) Ice cream
  • 4) Tiramisu
  • 5) Bakewell tart
  • 6) Eton mess
  • 7) Warm apple pie
  • 8) Scones with clotted cream and jam
  • 9) Crème brûlée
  • 10)Battenberg cake

David Cameron, Ed Milliband, Nick Clegg and Nigel Farage receive Mistresses for the New Year?

mbqpfightrfrih0pw3js

New research released today showed that cheaters are twice as likely to be in political jobs than those in low-salary brackets. UK political leaders, including Prime Minister David Cameron, Ed Miliband, Nick Clegg and Nigel Farage have this week received posted invites from IllicitEncounters.com, the UK’s top married dating site, encouraging them to cheat online.

Psychologist Lucy Redford said that men in power are more likely to cheat because “The feeling of invincibility is a natural by-product of the rise to political power. They feel like they won’t get caught, or if they do get caught they believe they will be able to talk their way out of it, which politicians are very good at.”

The research found that of the 1,000 cheating people surveyed, 235 of them were earning over £60,000, in political roles such as senior civil servants, head of government departments, parliamentary officials, political representatives or local councillors; compared to the 110 earning under £28,000, and in junior management or executive roles.

Claire Page, spokesperson for Illicit Encounters said there are many high-profile politicians using the website – “Our priority for us and for our customers is discretion. We facilitate affairs easily in a stress-free environment, where the big players look for escapism from their high-pressure professional life. Those in politics are particularly unfaithful, such as French president François Hollande, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Vance McAllister. It’s so common today that people barely bat an eyelid when they hear that yet another politician has had an affair. Hollande actually got a popularity boost after his affair revelations!

“Today, a lot of marriages, especially in politics, are more business unions, such as the partnership between Bill and Hillary Clinton. The spark in the marriage may have gone, but there are other reasons to stay, such as voters’ support which is increased with a united façade, but why should they lose out on any romanticism or sex life when they can still have it so easily online?”

All About That Bass: Musicians Top the ‘Best Lovers’ List, above Models and Personal Trainers!

gw38jyvs07gewiquj1xm

A poll released today showed that women think musicians are the best in bed, beating models and personal trainers. The survey, carried out by Illicitencounters.com asked over 500 females across the UK what type of man, in their experience, is the best in bed. The top ‘best in bed’ group was musicians (39%), beating personal trainers (18%), models (11%), lawyers (7%) and bankers (0.5%).

“It’s very obvious and quite simple why musicians top the ‘Best in Bed’ poll,” said Claire Page, spokesperson for Illicit Encounters, “Talent and creativity are extremely attractive. We get so many emails from women talking about their hot affairs with musicians, song writers and singers. The biggest sex symbols of all time, like Frank Sinatra, Justin Timberlake and Elvis Presley are all musicians. There’s something incredibly seductive about a man singing a love song. Every woman wants to thinks it’s about her!”

The names that topped the ‘fantasy sex partner’ list were:

1) Hozier

2) Harry Styles

3) Bruno Mars

4) Mick Jagger

5) David Bowie

6) John Legend

7) Jared Leto

8) David Grohl

The top three reasons women gave for musicians being great in bed are because:

1)They are passionate

2)They have good rhythm

3)They know what they’re doing with their hands!

Marriage with bite: Dog lovers are most likely to be faithful!

byoxmm8t4c5m8jsk0azu

Marriage is made to last when it has its ruff stages, as research released today showed that those who own pedigree dogs are least likely to stray.

New research conducted by IllicitEncounters.com, the UK’s top married dating site with 1 million members, showed that of the 1,000 people in the UK surveyed, all of whom are having affairs, only 18.4% of them are dog owners. 816 of the 1,000 surveyed did not own dogs, did not have pets or else owned other animals, such as cats, hamsters, goldfish, snakes, guinea pigs, rabbits or budgies.

“There are many different reasons people have affairs,” Claire Page, spokesperson for Illicit Encounters said, “Some people do it for companionship. Others do it because their partner travels often and they feel lonely, or because they think their partner is also having an affair so they feel it’s only fair. People want to feel adored, loved, important, valued, treasured, listened to, thrilled, or in control. An affair is not as black and white as some people think. That’s a prejudice and naïve way to look at it. What’s very interesting is the statistic from our latest survey – the fact that dog owners are the smallest group of people to stray says a lot. It reflects the temper of a dog – loyalty, protectiveness, friendship and affection are all things we associate with canines and people who are faithful.

“That’s not to say that every person who owns a dog won’t have an affair. One of our members is a multimillionaire man who breeds greyhounds. Another one of our clients is a top designer who is having affairs with three different men and owns two Pomeranians.”

Of the 184 dog owners surveyed, the top five breeds were-

  • 1)Doberman
  • 2)Mutt/ mixed breed
  • 3)Shih Tzu
  • 4)Bull terrier
  • 5)French Bulldog

Monday the 5th of January is the BIGGEST day of the year for affairs!

babyd4lrmxpfngzbjcf3

Following on from news that Friday the 2nd of January is dubbed ‘Divorce Day’ by the legal community, the UK’s leading married dating website, IllicitEncounters.com, has revealed that Monday 5th January, is the most adulterous day of the year.

When most of the British public goes back to work after a busy and stressful Christmas it makes for the most likely time that UK married couples would embark on an affair.

Statistics show that January is the time most married people either think about embarking on an affair – or splitting from their partner completely, making it Britain’s bleakest month of the year for marriages.

This follows research conducted that shows that 1-3 married people think they may have married the wrong person or for the wrong reason.

Christmas and New Year is a week of family lockdown when there is no excuse for avoiding family time this leads to people seeking extra-marital relationships, which rises significantly after the majority of the British public go back to work.

Spokesperson for IllicitEncounters.com Mike Taylor explains: “Christmas and New Year are times when couples spend an intense period of time with each other and their families. This can be quite claustrophobic and sometimes leads to a ‘cabin fever’ situation where both parties feel irritated with each other and underlying problems are exasperated. The 5th of January is typically one of the first days back to work and back to freedom and spouses take this opportunity to explore all the things they couldn’t under the watchful eye of their partner.”

IllicitEncounters.com sees on average a 30 per cent higher levels of activity during the winter months compared with the rest of the year, and this year to attract more female members Illicit Encounters has even released a 2015 calendar to showcase some of its eligible non-bachelors.

Based on previous years, IllicitEncounters.com is expected to see a sharp rise in the number of members joining the site. It is expected that there will be over One Million active UK members, approximately six per cent of the UK’s married population registered on the website by the end of winter.

This year the surge started even earlier with the pressure being too much for some couples, even by Boxing Day as Illicit Encounters reported it’s highest ever boxing day activity on the site showing it doesn’t take long during the festive period for the cracks to appear.

IllicitEncounters.com is the UK’s largest and longest running dating site for married people. With one million members across the UK, you’re sure to find your perfect match!

Established in 2003, we have been providing a meeting place for like-minded married and attached people for 12 years. Our members have one thing in common – they are all looking for a little romance outside their current relationship. Whether that’s the occasional bit of flirtatious chat, a regular coffee date, or a full-blown affair, that’s up to them.
