A glamorous mother-of-two who has had affairs with 80 married men after the death of her GP husband has admitted: “Life’s too short to stick to sex with only one partner.”

Louise Van Der Velde, 43,  lives every day like it his her last following her bereavement and juggles multiple affairs with various partners.

She says the weeks after Valentine’s are the busiest time of the year for sex cheats because it is a wake-up call to so many people in ‘dead’ relationships.

The sex therapist says her lovers’ wives are aware they are cheating and turn a blind eye because they have gone off sex.

Louise first started cheating in the last years of her marriage to her GP husband, Stephen McEwen, 34, who died in a tragic accident 14 years ago.

Expert comment from Jessica Leoni

She said: “We decided to embark on an open relationship in the last few years before he died. I have carried on the same way ever since. His death made my realise you have to seize the day and make the most of every day.”

Louise, of Harrogate, North Yorkshire, meets all her lovers on IllicitEncounters.com – the leading dating site for married people.

And this is the busiest time of the year for her with many fresh love cheats emerging following Valentine’s.

Louise said: “Valentine’s Day is a big wake-up for many people in dead relationships.

“We’ve all seen those couples in restaurants on February 14th staring vacantly at each other and realising they have absolutely nothing in common beyond their children and a shared commitment to stay together because that’s what you should do.

“Key dates like Valentine’s, Christmas and summer holidays are a big trigger point for affairs by both sexes.

“It really puts a relationship under the spotlight and makes many unhappy spouses realise that there has got to be more to life than having rubbish sex with the same boring partner for the next 50 years.

“Lots of wives only have themselves to blame when their husbands cheats. They lose interest in sex and effectively abandon them in the bedroom. All their effort goes into their children and running things domestically and they devote no attention to their marriage. It’s no wonder so many men cheat.”

She likes using IllicitEncounters.com because its male members are wealthy and are interested in sex and fun without any lasting attachment.

She said: “I am not looking for another husband and I have no interest in a monogamous relationship. I want to meet sexually driven men who are on the same page is me.”

She has recently been juggling affairs with three married men – one of whom she met after Valentine’s Day when he decided to reassess his life.

Affair number 1

Louise said: “This is with a wealthy international businessmen who has been with his wife for 20 years and has discreet affairs when he is away on business.

“He loves his wife but they have sex twice year – once around Valentine’s and once on his birthday. She lost interest in sex after she turned 40. He pointed out that he was devoted to her and their three children but he needed physical fulfilment. She gave him the green light to cheat as long as it didn’t impact on the family.

“He uses IllicitEncounters.com because most of the women on the site are attached and don’t want to upset the applecart. They are looking for regular casual sex, too, with no strings attached.

After number 2

Louise said: “This a new relationship which has begun very recently. My lover has been rethinking his life after a miserable Christmas and Valentine’s with his wife. He doesn’t want to leave – not least because he cannot afford to. But he feels that all her energies go into bring up their kids and there is no time or emotion left him. He feels neglected.

“He is finance director for an international firm and he hadn’t strayed previously in 20 years of marriage. He is like a new man now and I very much doubt I will be his last affair through IllicitEncounters.com.”

Affair number 3

Louise said: “This is a gorgeous property tycoon I’ve been seeing for few years who has a very high sex drive and is in an open relationship with his wife. He is one of those men who would find it impossible to stay faithful to any woman. He loves his wife and they have a fantastic sex life. It’s so good that he wants to replicate that excitement with other women. His wife also has affairs, too –  it suits them both. The one rule that they have is that they are both upfront with each other and never lie when they are seeing other people.”

Louise has two children aged 17 and 12 who she shields from her affairs.

She believes that experimenting with open relationships is the secret to long-term happiness.

She runs seminars for couples and singles to speak openly about their fantasies and what they want from sex through her company Future Love.

Attendees then have the option of attending events where they can have sex with other partygoers.

She added: “Around 60% of couples will experience cheating in their relationship. If they were more open about sex, there would be much less betrayal. That is the message I am trying to get across in the events that I hold.”

IllicitEncounters.com spokesman Christian Grant said: “Post-Valentine’s is one of the busiest times of the year for us with a 20% rise in registration – we see similar surges after Christmas and the summer holidays.

“Louise is a fairly typical of our female members – sexually drive women who looking to meet wealthy men for passion and excitement.”

Red Tuesday, The Most Popular Day to Dump Your Partner, Arrives Just One Day Before Valentine’s Day

The key findings

  • Red Tuesday, 13th February, is the day you’re most likely to get dumped in 2018
  • 35% of married people have broken up with their partner in the week leading up to Valentine’s Day
  • Of that 35%, 50% broke up with their partner on the Tuesday before Valentine’s Day, and 6% on the day itself
  • 49% broke up face-to-face, 29% over the phone/text, 20% over social media, and 4% got their friends or family to do their dirty work
  • The results come from a survey of 1,300 people on IllicitEncounters.com, the UK’s leading dating website for married people

I hope you’ve kept the receipt for that Belgian chocolate and the diamond earrings, because it looks like you might need it

What the numbers show

IllicitEncounters.com, the UK’s leading dating website for married people and the leading authority on infidelity, can reveal that you’re more likely to be dumped on the Tuesday before Valentine’s Day than on any other day of the year.

‘Red Tuesday’, as it’s been dubbed, sees couples terminate their relationship on the eve of the most romantic day of the year.

The site surveyed 1,300 of its members, with over a third (35%) stating that they’ve broken up with their partner on or in the week leading up to Valentine’s Day.

Of that 35%, 50% broke up with their partner on the Tuesday before Valentine’s Day, with the 44% ending things in the week leading up to the big day.

That leaves 6% who had the gall to break up with their partner on Valentine’s Day itself.

While the timing might not be ideal, 49% did muster the courage to break up with their partner face-to-face. Unfortunately, that leaves 29% who did the deed by text, over the phone, or an instant messaging service such as WhatsApp.

Somehow, 20% decided that social media was the best way to end things, and 4% left it to a friend or family member to break the bad news to their partner.

The site’s spokesperson, Christian Grant, explains why so many people save the heartbreak on the most romantic day of the year:

“You’ve likely been thinking about it for a while. You don’t wake up on an average Tuesday morning, have an epiphany, and then decide to end things with your significant other – that’s not how life works.

“But, it’s likely you’ve been too scared to pull the trigger, waiting so long for the right moment that it’s been and gone several times.

“In short, the pressure of Valentine’s Day proves to be too much. What if your partner buys you something incredibly expensive? What if they take you on a romantic getaway? What if, God forbid, they propose?

“Letting your partner down is likely to be painful for everyone involved, but all of those scenarios could be much, much worse, and you’ve delayed the decision for so long now that you’ve only got one last chance to end things, and this year, that’s Tuesday 13th – Red Tuesday.”

How Can You Tell If Someone Is Vegan? They’re Cheating On You

The key findings

  • Vegans and vegetarians are more likely to cheat on you than meat-eaters
  • The cheating habits of 1,000 veggies/vegans and 1,000 meat eaters on IllicitEncounters.com,  the UK’s leading dating website for married people, were studied, with veggies and vegans surpassing their meat-eating counterparts in every aspect
  • Vegans and veggies engage in an average of four affairs a year, lasting roughly 5 months each, and just 55% show remorse or guilt for their actions
  • By comparison, meat eaters have just 3 affairs per year, lasting 2 months, with 87% showing guilt or remorse for their actions
  • With vegetarians and vegans denying themselves meat, it’s unlikely that they’ll place any further restrictions on their lifestyle, meaning they’re more likely to stray should the opportunity arise

Clean eaters, mean cheaters. While vegans and vegetarians take pride in healthy living, scratching the surface a little reveals that all is not as it seems.

What the numbers show

IllicitEncounters.com, the UK’s leading dating website for married people and the leading authority on infidelity, surveyed over 1,000 of their members who are either vegetarian or vegan.

As it turns out, veggies and vegans, on average, engage in four affairs a year, sometimes juggling more than one at a time. Their affairs also tend to last as much as 5 months each time.

They’re startling numbers, but the cheaters themselves aren’t alarmed. In fact, just 55% of veggies/vegans admitted to feeling remorseful or guilty about any of their affairs.

Interestingly, 38% admitted to cheating on their diet on multiple occasions, showing that they’re not necessarily able to resist temptation.

The site also surveyed 1,000 of its members who have no dietary restrictions, and as it turns out, they’re nowhere near as bad as their plant-eating counterparts. To be precise, they engage in just 3 affairs per year, not 5, with the average affair lasting around 2 months, less than half the 5 months for vegetarians and vegans.

To top it off, a whopping 87% of cheating meat eaters are guilt-ridden, compared to the aforementioned 55% of veggies/vegans.

The site’s spokesperson, Christian Grant, explains why this may be:

“The majority of vegetarians and vegans choose not to eat for their love of animals, and less so because of their objection to the taste of meat itself. By refusing themselves a pleasure that, arguably, is a natural human desire, they not only attain a higher level of moral superiority, they’re less likely to allow restrictions in other aspects of their lives.

“Their pent up tensions can’t be contained forever, and there’s only so many restrictions anyone is willing to place upon themselves. Evidently, a monogamous relationship isn’t one of them.”

Britain’s most prolific mistress: how I am juggling three affairs with married men for Valentine’s Day

What the numbers show

* Gweneth is bedding an international jeweller, a high-flying stockbroker and a powerful banker at the same time;

* She will see all three separately in the run-up to February 14th but they will be with their wives on Valentine’s Day;

* Gweneth has had 100 affairs with married men in the last decade and shows no signs of slowing down;

* The 47-year-old widow meets her lovers through IllicitEncounters.com, Britain’s leading dating website for married people;

* It boasts lots of wealthy male members with an average income of £52,000

Britain’s most prolific mistress Gweneth Lee has told how she is juggling three affairs with married men for Valentine’s Day.

The 47-year-old beauty is bedding an international jeweller, a high-flying stockbroker and a powerful banker at the same time.

She will spend different nights with all three over the next two weeks in the build-up to the most romantic day of the year.

But she will be all alone on February 14th because her three lovers will be with their wives.

Expert comment from Jessica Leoni

Business consultant Gweneth, of Chelsea, West London, said: “Valentine’s is the best time of year to be a mistress because you are lavished with sex and presents.

“Married men may make a fuss of their wives on February 14th but they spend a lot more money on their mistresses.

“In my experience the gift to the mistress tends to cost double whatever they give to the wife, and it is far sexier.

“I’ve been a wife on Valentine’s Day, when I was married to my late oil executive husband, and all I can say is that being a mistress is a lot more fun.”

All three of Gweneth’s lovers are aware that she is seeing them on an ‘non-exclusive’ basis and that they will be sharing her with other married men in the run-up to Valentine’s.

It means she has been busy juggling her diary to make sure that her lovers get the attention they deserve.

She met all three men on IllicitEncounters.com, Britain’s leading dating website for married people.

It attracts a wealthy clientele and the average annual income of male members is £52,000 – around double the national average.

It boasts many high-flying multi-millionaires in its client base.

Affair number 1 – the international jeweller

Gweneth said: “This will probably be the most fun of the three dates because my lover is a real party animal.

“But before we crack open the champagne we’ll head off to Bond Street in London for a shopping trip.

“He is an international jeweller with quite exquisite taste and he obviously has the connections to pick the very finest pieces at the very best prices. I have been seeing him on and off for a few years and in the past he has bought me the most beautiful pearls and a gorgeous necklace from Tiffany. I cannot wait to see what we will choose this year.

“After that, it will be back to one of his favourite hotels – Claridge’s or the Savoy. He is in London about six times a year and I am his girl in the capital. I am pretty sure that he has my equivalents in Paris, Milan, New York and some of the other great capitals of the world where he travels on business.

“He is in his 50s and enjoys a good sex life with his wife. But he is very, very highly sexed and enjoys having discreet affairs when he is away on business. I’ve booked him in for early February – my first Valentine’s treat!”

Affair number 2 – the high-flying stockbroker

Gweneth said: “He is in his 40s and lives in the Home Counties with his wife and three children. The kids are all still at school and his wife’s energies go into bringing them up – leaving little time for passion with her husband. That is where I come in.

“He stays at their flat in the City around three times a week. He loves lingerie so I am looking forward to lots of beautiful Agent Provocateur as a present. The one condition being that I wear every piece while we enjoy oysters, champagne and lots of delicious strawberries. It is going to be an exhausting night.”

Affair number 3 – the powerful banker

Gweneth said: “I don’t know what it is about the City and sex but most of my married lovers have worked around the Square Mile.

“My third Valentine’s lover is the kinkiest of the lot. He is like my very own Christian Grey from Fifty Shades of Grey and likes to set up his own Red Room of Pain just for me with all sorts of floggers, spankers and riding crops. You won’t be surprised to learn that one of his weekend hobbies is hunting. He is so highly sexed that our little trysts often start in the restaurant before we head back to the hotel. He has been in the Mile High Club with several different women and is always look at ways to spice up his high-pressured life.

“He is also married with teenage children. He is devoted to his wife but no woman would be able to keep up with his sex drive. He sees me and several other women in London. We know that we are never going to keep him on an exclusive basis because he is absolutely gorgeous, easily the best-looking of my three lovers.”

Gweneth feels no guilt over her affairs – and says she is helping to keep their marriages together.

She explained: “The sad truth is that monogamy is unnatural. Who decided that it was good idea to commit to one person in your 20s or 30s and then stay with them for the next 50 years? Where is the fun in that? Inevitably the sex is going to go stale.

“Go out on Valentine’s night and you will see thousands of couples staring at each other vacantly over dinner. They have very little in common, sex has become a routine and they have stayed together for the sake of the kids or because it is too expensive to divorce.

“They could get a new lease of life by signing up to a site like IllicitEncounters.com, where like-minded married people can date each other, safe in the knowledge that they will have some fun but no one is going to get hurt and start demanding a divorce.”

llicitEncounters.com spokesman Christian Grant said Gweneth was typical of the women on the site which has a 45-55 female/male split.

He said that Valentine’s was one of the busiest times of the year for IllicitEncounters.com.

“Valentine’s may be the most romantic day of the year but it can also brutally expose the weaknesses in a relationship and the lack of sex, intimacy and fun,” he said.

“Lots of people use Valentine’s to reassess their lives and make a decisive change by signing up to a site like ours.

“We are an outlet for men and women who would have an affair whether we were there or not. In coming to us, they can be assured of meeting a like-minded partner seeking some added excitement in their life who doesn’t want to upset things at home.”

Every week, around 20,000 people in the UK are having affairs on IllicitEncounters.com.

More than one million people have registered with the site since it started in 2003 and the highest proportion of members are wealthy people in London and the Home Counties.

You’re Significantly More Likely To Cheat If Your Parents Have, Too

The key findings

  • If your parents have cheated, you’re significantly more likely to cheat yourself
  • 75% of female adulterers and 67% of male adulterers have at least one parent who has had an affair
  • If both of your parents have cheated, the likelihood of you cheating soars; 90% of women and 86% of men with two cheating parents are cheaters themselves
  • 51% of women and 44% of men said that their parents were happy and successful, even in spite of their affair, so they saw no reason not to do the same
  • The results come from a survey of over 1,000 men and women on IllicitEncounters.com, the UK’s leading dating website for married people

We all inherit certain traits and characteristics from our parents, but could cheating be one of them?

What the numbers show

IllicitEncounters.com, the UK’s leading dating website for married people and the leading authority on infidelity, can reveal that over 75% of women and 67% of men who use the site have had at least one parent who has had an affair.

The study, which surveyed over 1,000 men and women ranging from 25 – 65 years of age, found that, when both parents have had an affair, the likelihood of their child cheating skyrockets.

Namely, 90% of women and 86% of men who have had both parents cheat are pursuing an affair themselves.

But there’s more to it than being easily impressionable. 51% of women and 44% of men said that their parents were happy and successful, even in spite of their affair, so they saw no reason to not have their cake and eat it, too.

Expert comment from Jessica Leoni

Katie, an accountant from Birmingham, said:

“My mum had an affair when she was married to my dad, and my dad also cheated with his second wife.

“It didn’t hurt me growing up, but it also didn’t impact my parents’ careers, and they always seemed happy pursuing non-monogamous relationships, so I don’t see why I can’t go down the same avenue.”

Meanwhile, a further 30% of women and 35% of men said that growing up around parents who had cheated made them desensitised to affairs, and normalised the idea of a non-monogamous relationship.

Spokesperson for IllicitEncounters.com, Christian Grant, said:

“Everyone’s childhood shapes who they are when they grow up. And when you happen to grow up around infidelity, it ends up normalising it.

“Not only does it make it seem ok, but if one, or both of your cheating parents, your parents had successful careers and seemed emotionally unscathed, it encourages their offspring to do as they see.

“It trickles down from one generation to another and becomes a cycle that’s difficult to break, but, it’s a cycle that adulterers seemingly don’t want broken.

“As far as they’re concerned, their relationships are fulfilling, and the whole situation is normal.”

2017 Was The Biggest Ever Year for Affairs

The key findings

  • 2017 was the biggest ever year for affairs, and 2018 is set to eclipse it
  • IllicitEncounters.com, the UK’s leading dating website for married people saw its busiest and most popular year ever, making 2017 the biggest year on record for adultery
  • Over 120,000 people joined the site, 54% of those being women
  • The most popular age range for women was 31 – 40; 41 – 50 for men
  • With a further 150,000 people projected to sign up to the site this year, you’re more likely to be cheated on in 2018 than ever before

For many, 2017 will live long in the memory for all the wrong reasons, and now new research has only added further fuel to the fire.

What the numbers show

IllicitEncounters.com, the UK’s leading dating website for married people and the leading authority on infidelity, saw its busiest and most popular year since its inception in 2004, making 2017 the biggest year on record for adultery.

Over 120,000 people joined the site, a year-on-year increase of just under 17,000.

Most notably, women took the march last year, making up 54% of all new members.

There was also an increase in the amount of younger women joining the site, with 25% of all women falling into the 21-30 age category.

The majority (31%) were 31 – 40, while 22% were between the ages of  41 – 50.

A similar trend was seen among men, with 26% being between the ages of 21 – 30. The majority were slightly older than women, however, with 35% ranging between 41 – 50 years old.

30% were 31 – 40 years old, and 18% were 51 – 60.

With an increase in the amount of adulterers for two years running, the site expects 2018 to be no different, with a further 150,000 people projected to sign up to the site this year. That means you’re more likely to be cheated on in 2018 than any other year.

And if you’re dating a man between the ages of 41 – 50 or a woman between 31 – 40, then you’re officially in the danger zone and more likely to be cheated on than anyone else.

The site’s spokesperson, Christian Grant, explains the significance of the findings:

“The two biggest takeaways are that the average age of adulterers seem to getting younger each younger, and the ratio of men and women is edging quickly towards the latter.

“We can deduce that more and more people are rushing into marriage prematurely. Whether that’s because they want to keep up with the Jones’, financial reasons, or something else entirely, is difficult to say.

“With regards to the sharp increase in female adulterers, we can confidently say that the idea of the 21st century woman is the driving force behind this increase.

“Women are more financially secure and less dependent on men than ever before, and they’re more likely to go out and get what they want.

“Evidently, that includes a tumultuous affair.”

If Your Partner Spent Big This Christmas, They Could Be Cheating On You

The key findings

While your face might have lit up on Christmas morning when you opened the bracelet from Tiffany’s or the Givenchy bag, it could be also sign that your partner is having an affair.

What the numbers show

IllicitEncounters.com, the UK’s leading dating website for married people and the leading authority on infidelity, can reveal the Christmas gifts that indicate that your partner might be having an affair.

35% of men spoiled their wife with designer jewellery, with 27% hedging their bets on designer clothing.

Spending on designer goods didn’t stop there, with a further 20% spending big on a designer handbag.

A whopping 85% of men and 89% of women stated that they spent lavishly on their partner this Christmas purely out of guilt for their affair.

The site’s spokesperson, Christian Grant, explains:

“As you get older, and as you spend more and more time in the same relationship, Christmas becomes less about the gifts themselves and more about the act of giving.

“That’s why expensive and lavish gifts might not be a cause of celebration as you’d initially think.

“From the experienced adulterer to the first-timer, there’s an element of guilt, however small, that’s absolutely unavoidable.

“One small way to alleviate that guilt is to shower your significant other with material goods that you wouldn’t otherwise buy them.

“Money can’t buy happiness, but maybe it can buy you some peace of mind until you come to terms with your relationship status.”

Over One In Five Married People Had An Affair With A Colleague At The Christmas Party

The key findings

  • Over one in five married people admitted to cheating at the work Christmas party
  • 30% kissed a co-worker or manager, while 10% slept with them
  • 18% got drunk and insulted their co-worker or boss
  • The results come from a survey of over 300 married people on IllicitEncounters.com, the UK’s leading dating website for married people

Employees across the country are hoping that what happens at the work Christmas party stays at the work Christmas party. That’s because IllicitEncounters.com, the UK’s leading dating website for married people and the leading authority on infidelity, can reveal that over one in five married people admitted to cheating with someone from work at their Christmas party.

What the numbers show

In a survey of over 300 married people who frequent the site, 22% admitted to cheating in some form with a co-worker. Of that 22%, a massive 50% inappropriately flirted with a colleague, 10% seductively danced with them and 30% kissed them

The remaining 10% went the whole way, having slept with someone from work.

While there are those who didn’t give in to temptation, they’ll still be hoping their colleagues have short memories, as 18% got drunk and insulted their co-workers or boss and a further 35% embarrassed themselves with a show of bad karaoke and ‘dad dancing’.

The site’s spokesperson, Christian Grant, expands:

“Another year, another Christmas party, another series of inappropriate work-based affairs.

“There are no great surprises here. Affairs between colleagues are some of the most common, and the Christmas party removes the boundaries that would normally keep two colleagues from acting upon their feelings.

“Make no mistake, unlike some affairs, this is purely driven by lust. You’re lying to yourself if you’ve not mentally ranked your colleagues in order of attractiveness – we all have – but these adulterers are the ones who take it that one step further.

“Unfortunately, the long-term effects of bedding your colleague can be pretty damaging. You’ll have to face your colleague, or your boss, when you return to work, and there’s no way that situation can be anything other than incredibly awkward for everyone involved.

“Our advice? Make sure your thoughts about your colleagues remain as just thoughts, and save the affair for a situation that won’t ruin your career.”

Adulterous Behaviour Could Reach Record High As the UK Begins to Freeze

The key findings

  • The heavy snow is leading to a huge increase in the amount of people seeking affairs
  • IllicitEncounters.com, the UK’s leading dating website for married people, has seen a 45% week-on-week increase in the number of people signing up to the site as a result of the snow
  • The surge in subscriptions are most evident in parts of the country where the snow has hit hardest, such as the East Midlands, Wales and the South West
  • With the snow trapping many indoors, the cracks in their marriage begin to show
  • The site has taken on new staff to try and keep up with the increased demand
  • The most popular counties include Oxfordshire, Warwickshire and Gloucestershire, while Birmingham is the city that has seen the biggest surge

As large parts of the country experience heavy snowfall, an unexpected side effect has been the alarming rise in unhappy husbands and wives racing to married-dating websites in search of an affair. With the cold weather set to continue, how many marriages will have survived when the snow thaws?

What the numbers show

IllicitEncounters.com, the UK’s leading dating website for married people and the leading authority on infidelity, has seen a significant surge in subscriptions coinciding with the harsh winter that’s trapping the nation indoors.

The surge in subscriptions were most evident in parts of the country where the snow has hit hardest, with users in the East Midlands, Wales and the South West seeing as much as a 30% week-on-week increase in the number of people signing up to the site.

Taking everyone into account, the site has seen a 45% week-on-week increase in the number of people signing up from across the country, and that site has responded in kind, with extra staff hired and existing staff working overtime to keep up with demand.

The most popular counties include Oxfordshire, Warwickshire and Gloucestershire, while Birmingham is the city that has seen the biggest surge in members.

London, normally free of any significant snowfall, has also seen a 15% week-on-week increase in subscriptions, with the boroughs of Haringey and Tower Hamlets seeing the biggest surge.

IllicitEncounters.com’s spokesperson, Christian Grant, explains:

“After you’ve got a couple of hours of enjoyment playing around in the snow, the reality of being housebound with your partner kicks in; after just a few days, couples experience cabin fever. When a marriage is fractured, time away from your partner prevents the cracks from turning into chasms. But when you’re trapped indoors, instead of kicking your feet up and nestling in front of a cosy fireplace, many instead descend into arguments, and it doesn’t take very long for those arguments to spiral.

“It’s no coincidence to see so many people signing up to Illicit Encounters, then, especially those from areas that have been most affected by the snow. In fact, this isn’t the first occurrence of snow-led infidelity, which is why we have been able to prepare and quickly respond with additional staff members to cope with the increased demand.

“Although Christmas is only right around the corner, it seems as if there’s plenty of time for a few people to get themselves on the naughty list.”

Emergency services workers are most likely to cheat this Christmas

The key findings

  • If your partner works for one of the emergency services this Christmas, then they’re more likely to cheat
  • IllicitEncounters.com, the UK’s leading dating website for married people saw a 65% month-on-month increase in the amount of emergency services workers signing up
  • The total number of said employees on the site stands at 55,000
  • There was a 40% increase in activity among its emergency services workers, which includes more messages sent and more photos uploaded
  • 200 emergency services employees were surveyed, with 39% admitting to have engaged in a fling over Christmas in the past; 21% said they’ve had a fling with a colleague.

If your partner works for one of the emergency services this Christmas, then they’re more likely to cheat. IllicitEncounters.com, the UK’s leading dating website for married people and the leading authority on infidelity, can reveal a significant 65% month-on-month increase in the amount of emergency services workers signing up to the site.

What the numbers show

It’s a tremendous increase, one that brings the total number of said employees on the site to just under 55,000.

The site also saw a 40% increase in activity among its emergency services workers, which includes more messages sent, more profiles edited and more photos uploaded.

With Christmas requiring more attention and dedication to family, adulterers typically find it very difficult to sneak away for a Christmas fling, but emergency services workers such as firemen or policemen, with their irregular work hours, have no such problem.

Their alibi is already set in stone. They can tell their partner they’re on call, and then sneak away for a salacious rendezvous with their mistress/histress.

This isn’t a new phenomenon. 200 emergency services employees were surveyed by the site, with 39% admitting to have engaged in a fling over Christmas in the past, with 21% stating that they had a fling with a colleague.

The site’s spokesperson, Christian Grant, explains:

“Tis the season to be jolly, except if you’re an adulterer. From nativity plays, to Christmas shopping, to spending unwanted time with the in-laws, juggling one relationship around the festive period is difficult enough, let alone two.

“However, the aforementioned emergency services workers find themselves in a unique position. Needless to say, while many don’t have an affair on the job, they can tell their partner that they’ve been summoned to work and are on call, sneak away for a couple of hours and the job’s done.”
