I get a rush from the secrecy of an affair - it's a thrill. Does this happen to anyone else? Nothing gets me going more.
Interested to hear peoples opinions on this one, is it a normal fetish?

Beyond sex, you learn so much from an affair. You learn more about human nature, including yourself. For example your capacity to deceive; how to handle guilt, how to adapt to another intimate human being, how to measure what you got at home... etc. Just make sure you don't take your new friend for granted... as you do at home. Also have your red lines clear and explained: you can't do what you can't do. You can't change the Saturday shopping trip with the Mrs if your new love asks for Saturday. Red lines don't cause conflict, they resolve them. You get respect for them. Be flexible when you can. I kept an affair secret from the whole world till it ended. I set my rules and stuck to them. The lady got her rewards where it mattered. Ok?

IMO you should not confuse an conflate different things together. There is the fear of being caught which still affects adrenaline and our fear and flight response, but should make you more careful not less. You dont want to blow up your life.
Then there is the thrill of meeting up with your new lover each time which is also exhilarating. There can be similar feelings, but they are very different.
If you focus too much on the former without caution you are putting your current life and that of your partners at risk which is just selfish and bordering then on an addiction to the thrill which is also dangerous to you and your partner. If only you were involved and not your family and your wider partner and their family I would say do what you like but it is not just you involved here so caution warranted.
