If you spent most of your life with your partner and had the same friends/interests then you might as well leave IE …you need to have lived separate lives ..had separate friends and separate hobbies for this to work..
You will discover it’s not easy to make the ‘necessary excuses’ to be away from your partner if you have lived in each others pockets …people that have already ‘lived ‘…apart don’t need to worry about making excuses to be away as they have been doing this for the duration of their partnership..💪

Jeez come on, are you all on a ball and chain? How about just go out for the evening!
It’s actually quite sad how many people on here do everything with their spous, have the same friends etc. if that’s you then clearly having an affair is going to be tricky. If lunch time bunk ups and business meetings are your thing, fair play to you but me, I prefer to work when I’m at work and then have fun outside of that

Work meeting is far more pragmatic than other options. You could say you need to go out for a dental emergency, but then you've got to go full Methos Actor and pretend to be in pain and discomfort for days before hand to sell it 😆

Perhaps now is a good time for you to start laying the foundations by talking about what you would like to do when lockdown is over, for example joining some sort of activity group which your OH has no interest in or taking up some sort of hobby which takes you away from home for a reasonable length of times, etc, etc ... be creative if you really are serious about having some time to yourself as well as an affair!
