First date attire

I've been reading lately in the forum about women anxing about their outfits etc in order to impress their firstdate. Really does it matter? Chaps, tell us your expectations...make up or natural, new dress or casual comfort, cleavage or low key?

1st date attire matters. For ladies, for sure - I'll never forget how a former IE left me transfixed when she catwalked into the bar. But for guys too. "The suit doesn't make the man"? So what! It does give the man a good first impression. Which, on your 1st date, beats the alternatives.
I don't know about you people, but like a general preparing for battle - and let's face it, love is much like war - I'll grab any advantage I can get. So, while in the office I am often in trainers and wear a pullover, for a first date, I polish my leather shoes to a shiny black, I wear a suit, I wear a tie, and I spray my best cologne. [Sorry to disappoint: I only wear a tuxedo and a bow tie in my movies!].
Even now, over a year later, when I am not wearing a tie with her, my IE mocks me for my standards slipping (perhaps because, as it turns out, a tie is a multi-purpose item😈😈). And she demands that I always wear "that" cologne. ❤️
Guys: sound good, look good, smell good. The other 2 senses may follow...

I’ll dress according to my alibi, but if that’s something that’s overly casual then I’ll let my date know ahead of time (and have a spare outfit in the car and change somewhere). Communication is important of course - you don’t want your date thinking you dressed that way to meet them (unless of course you have dressed up!)

I think it's always fun to have an excuse to dress up sexy - it makes me feel great and I'd want to make sure I dress to impress too x

As it's a first date just smart casual, nothing overly attention-grabbing and in keeping with your alibi, the venue and time of day. But always the best and spotless underwear whether you anticipate anyone other than yourself seeing it or not.
