Connection

Has not being able to meet during lockdown been good to help build a connection first?

The only meaningful "connection" is by meeting in person ... even then it is not guaranteed.

Well atm I think getting to know someone first on here then if there’s an attraction move onto another app, then talk some more, and when you both can’t take it no longer have the first meet, gets the butterflies out of the way lol

I guess this goes to show how we are all different and all looking for different things. As long as we are upfront from the start then I don't see an issue.

Like you, my time is precious. Therefore I'm only going to give it to people who I know are interested in me and not just racking up the numbers.

"Lucylouise -
If someone is keen to meet very quickly I personally feel like just a number as they haven't really got to know me?"

- I try to meet the person a week to 10 days.
- depending on messages this can be sorted out in about 10 messages.

I began all this with LOTS of messages, and trying to 'get to know each other' before meeting however from the experiences I had, I quickly learnt that it was a waste of my time. (and the other persons).

I am busy and I wish an affair in person.
I no longer have any interest in chatting for weeks for them to go silent or for it to end in a dead end.
I would much prefer to work that out in a couple of weeks, with as little non productive time used at my end as possible.

Many people are similar to you.
Others are similar to me and have limited time, or time is money, the more they waste on dead ends is time they were not able to put into work, or family or children .... or the goldfish.

@Lucylouise, that's a good point about not having time to meet someone different each day. Right now we're still in lockdown and I haven't yet gone back to work, so I have been able to go on a lot of socially distanced first dates in the last month. But when my normal life resumes I will have to be a lot more selective, and the messaging helps me do that.

So chaps, please don't rush that part :-)

I 100% agree with you. If someone is on my wavelength messaging then it is more likely we can build that rapport in real life.

If someone is keen to meet very quickly I personally feel like just a number as they haven't really got to know me?

I don't have time to meet a different person every day of the week so I will be selective about who I agree to meet up with (if and when that ever happens of course!)

Agree with you does not matter how many messages you cannot tell if the connection is there
