Location, location, location
If you're not in a position to travel for work, do you limit your search closer to home?

Why is everyone talking about driving? My very successful IE's involved letting the train take the strain? Maybe it's my hedonistic nature and the thought of getting away from the daily grind and enjoying champagne in bed all day. Now that's my idea of an affair. At the end of the day if you meet the right person then you make it work.

Yes it does matter, my search area is only 4 counties that are reachable under an hour, half hour now back in Cheshire/Manchester but before in the high peak it would have been long drives and not so good roads. I'm only 5 mins away to m60 and m56 or a34 which are great connections.

It also depends on your location. I'm in a rural part of Aberdeenshire. So you have to accept that there is a lower population and therefore less chances to meet someone. It may also mean travelling a bit further than you might normally consider. My last IE was only 15 minutes away which, as LadyDe rightly points out, means exciting impromptu meetings. It really does depend on your circumstances, where you are and what you you're ie's expectations are.

If you don't travel for work and you don't have any additional activities that keep you away from home - like sports or other activities that you do without your partner - then it's not realistic to find an IE anyway as you will not be able to explain all the strange and sudden coffee meetings with friends... this is one of the problems with people joining here. They like the idea of having a lover, but they don't actually have any time when they can be away from home without questions...

As others have said logistics are important but on the flip side the closer you are to home the higher the risk of bumping into someone you know

@ P99
I agree with all that P99 says.. but also depends how often you want to meet as well … so yes for me 45mins-1hr is max for me too, especially with all the roads my way … just nearer means you can sneak the odd lunch meet, the impromptu ones are the best …

Simple answer ……Logistics ARE Important 😊
I have done a LD affair but it’s hard work as time goes on …road closures…heaving traffic … accidents…( if you break down and you’re supposed to be in another location)
….this puts a massive stress on your date…it’s not worth it …I will only drive an hour max …. The guy in question has to be a ‘special person’ for me to go further …😊
