It's just one factor which, taken with many others, build a picture of the person.
Whilst I agree that it's "just a number" I'd not personally want to get intimate with a woman young enough to be my daughter, or old enough to be my mum!

Regrettably I have 69! (Years unfortunately!) on my profile I find many ladies have quite tight age ranges but it all depends on genes and luck ! I know people of say 60 who look 75 and others who would pass for under 50 so I have given a fairly wide age range my grandfather was 34 years older than my grandmother!

Totally agree that someone who doesn't take the time to write their own profile isn't worth replying to. It's not too hard to put on a profile who you are and what type of person you are looking for. Doesn't have to be long but something that gives an idea of who you are.

Notice that if you search on a location up pops a number of profiles that are miles away from what's on their profile. Can understand a neighbouring location but London is nowhere near Edinburgh for example.
