1. I am instantly put off by a silly name, such as " not getting it at home". Be creative with your name or very simple, but silly is off-putting.

2. Intriguing opening message will sign post me to your profile.

3. Agree with Paula that you don't make it too long, but be honest about what you want/offer. If you want NSA only, then don't say you're looking for just one lady.

4. There are some great profiles that engage straight away. Even just saying, "hello and thanks for reading" is quite human and inviting. You can click on forum names to see same gender profiles.

5. If you can be witty good but humour often back fires if you try too hard. Keep it simple

6. Don't lie about your height. It is important to a lot of women but first date shocks are more than disappointing.

7. Have decent photos, face neutral, face smiling but not too close up, full body dressed, maybe a torso but not an unsolicited dic pic

8. Always enter the perfect partner section, gaps look lazy, and your interes

As per @P99

Be positive in description, but don’t big yourself up to the point of being unbelievable.

Be yourself. Don’t write something because you think that might get you more hits.

Be honest. Lies will show up and you will lose the potential IE anyway when they find out.

Be concise. Write enough to cover who you are and what kind of IE you’re looking for. Skip the 5 page essay.

Inject a bit of humour.

Use paragraphs, check spelling, grammar and punctuation!

What P99 said. You can't create a perfect profile because every reader looks for different things. Just make it honest and a reflection of you, that's all you can. Remember at some point you will meet so no point bullshitting.

Keep it short and simple...

Less is more

Don't type an essay...

Don't use the profile wizard ...

You don't need your life's story...

Be honest and positive....

If your not sure leave it basic...

Look at other profiles and adapt yours at a later date.

Don't just copy and paste..

Inject some humour ...

If all else fails ask one of the people on the chat to give you a pointer...its not easy typing a profile...some are better than others at creating writing....but do yourself a favour and don't bullshit....it will bite you on the arse.
