Its unfortunate that books/films like 50 shades have given the idea that S&M = pain.
Plenty of people have D/s relationships without pain or with only mild forms that you probably would not consider S&M. It's also common to find that certain types of so-called pain can be arousing in the right situation -- if both partners decide to explore that. The pain-pleasure definition can change a lot while playing. There's a huge range of sensations and limits, but as previously mentioned Trust and communication is the key

Allegedly.

I've rarely noticed it on mentioned on profiles, usually men playing at being dom with younger women perhaps, but it has been mentioned in private messages.

Being a bossy woman, I like nothing better than to spank a man and inflict different kinds of mutually agreed painful experiences.

But here's the thing.
It doesn't turn me on, quite the opposite in fact.

What I do like is the power and control over a man.

A snivelling man who begs for it or alternatively begs me to stop, is a joy to behold. It amuses me.

I love taking control and there are endless amounts of men who love women to be in control.

I don’t think it’s that prolific from the profiles of ladies I read. I guess it does mean different things to different people from mild spanking through to quite significant torture

For me, control isn't about the punishment but comes from my confidence and enjoyment in giving pleasure. Effectively, when someone who trusts me gives me control, it allows me to tease and take my time to help intensify the pleasure or sometimes leave my partner a quivering wreck begging for more - which is ideal...

S&M ? Well I’ve never personally been asked about it. I have talked to a few men about Dom/sub relationship but most are just a bit dominant or dabbling .. as for fifty shades I think it woke up a few relationships and spiced up the bedroom, got people thinking about their boring sex lives
I think it’s each to there own and if reading a book series , all be it not that well written , has some women or men asking for something a little darker in the bedroom that they desire then it’s all good.
Passé implies that it’s a fad , good sex is never fad however you want it

The title gives it away. There are numerous different shades of S&M and I guess if members are in or have experienced a 'vanilla' sex life having read and/or watched the films, hope to experience/explore something different.
I don't think Christian has done the S&M world any favours repeatedly warning Anastasia to stay away due to his troubled childhood however, with the right person it is fun and exciting.
The important thing is Trust and Communication.

As a man reading ladies profiles I have rarely seen it, so its either men offering it or younger ladies ?

Not something I'm offering or wanting to receive, but be interesting to see other views.
