Affairs can be fairytales too

All the books and movies about happily ever afters - soooo glamorised.

Come on Cinderella, the balls over, nobody found your shoe. I've had more chemistry, love and adventure in an affair - which brings me to the bold statement - affairs can be fairytales too.

The fairytale is someone who actually wants to meet and not waste people's precious time!!

I've not been lucky enough to meet anyone to have an actual affair with despite trying here on and off for a year so can't help with the OP but I think it's a l9bely idea for it to be a fairy tale.

I’ve yet to experience a full on affair am I missing out????

I want to take the time to apologise to the OP.... I didn't read the first line properly, and I've nothing against Americans (as long as they're not NRA gun nuts).

And for the ladies who may have read it, it does reflect badly, but it definitely reveals a side to my character that I would generally suppress is such circumstances.

So maybe I should amend my profile to include the line "occasionally displays the Jeremy Clarkson-esque tendency of speaking from the hip".

EmnEm,

On reflection you're totally right, in fact I didn't even read the first line right! I thought it was saying that films with affairs are glamorised!

I'll see if admin can remove the comment as it makes me come across as a prick... which of course I occasionally am!

@mixed_feelings

Whilst I didn't pose the question, I think you're rather harsh.

Perhaps the spelling was a typo?

Like yours, 'starting Tom Hardy'.

I presume you meant starring?

What's wrong with Americans?

The film Locke, starting Tom Hardy...... hardly glamourises an affair. Anyway who wrote this fucking question, clearly an American with that spelling of glamourised.

So, you're telling me I won't be whisked off my feet by Patrick Dempsey?!

Fuck sake, where do I send my complaints to?

I think sometimes even when you're living in a fairy tale you're oblivious to it. So perhaps the role of affairs is also about allowing you to see your relationship from the outside, while experiencing individual chapters from other fairy tales that passed you by.
