About Me:

My preference is for laughter and serious, thoughtful conversation in equal measure. Arguments rarely add much to the store of knowledge, but like everyone else I get into them from time to time, and don't shy away. I do like people who know their onions, and can tell me about their interests. Because I have lots of interests I can understand anybody who is passionate about something, and I can even be charitable if you have beliefs that aren't mine. It all adds the the spice. I've got lots of hobbies that take me out and about. I travel three oor four times a year, Washington last month, and eat out a lot. I've two grown children and they now take me under their wings, which is nice, but weird. For weekends away, my ideal is to head for Devon and rent a cottage near the water, or if its chilly, head for one of the big hotels. In fact, I like to go for a bit longer, and then could get as far as northern France, say Rouen, where its bustling and relaxing combined. There are chateaux and there are auberge, and gloroius cliff walks along the Alabaster Coast. And Paris is close. What more could one wish for? My clothing style is normally suits in the week, and sloppy-joes at the weekend, but only if I'm building something or painting the fence. For going out I like a little effort to be made, but only enough to make it an occasion. I don't think, otherwise that I even look at myself in the mirror other than to sometimes check that my hair is somewhere reasonable. I'm not an embarrassment to be seem with, but neither will I want to unstage you. My best feature it probably my smile, and my comfort with myself. i don't think that I have any hang-ups that dominate my world, except for the usual hour or two after something has got my goat. Its not life-threatening anyway. I like a good chatter, and providing I have that, the rest of the location doesn't bother me, it could be seedy or grand. It could be an opera house or pay house, but we still need to find somewhere quiet afterwards to chinwag. I like wine, and interesting food. But that doesn't include spices and fodder, so I'd prefer good food early to a drunken curry house at midnight. I do like sex, and its that gentle flying sensation that you get from subtle and light relationships that I love. Its not what the relationship is heading for that matters, its where it is for the moment, tomorrow will be a fresh day. I haven't been hurt much, or perhaps I easily block that out, so I don't have any angsts to share, or, worse, pass on. I like people until they show me that I shouldn't. Boring and shallow are my chief insults. My sports are limited to things that move and are clever. So forget ball games and mud. I do like bowls though, but have always felt too young to try, so thats a challenge for somebody, perhaps. It will have to be added to my list of things to do, but not yet perhaps.

Ideal Partner:

Already you know that, for me, you need to be thoughtful and bright, but if you've read this far, you are. If truth be told I like people to be able to bring something new to my life, so you need to be different from me in some way. In turn I'd like to be able to show you things, places, and ideas. So we might think of chasing about a bit, or just sitting and grinning at each other. But I imagine that we'd chatter like goldfish. I'm happy in a car, so live where you wish, I don't mind travelling, it give me time to ponder, and to see other places. I don't know what your values and morals are to be: uplifting and generous probably. I don't meet dishonest, tarnished souls, so I wouldn't know how I'd react. I do meet unconventional, jack the lads, and quite enjoy them, for a while. I'm ready to see you with fresh eyes. I'm fairly certain that I want a relationship that can adjust to circumstance. If it works, let it work better. Every relationship is a new one, and its a challenge. Bring it on. I like to remember the past, as do many people, but a new start is a new start, and thats the best way, putting all the bad into a box. Bring out the good bits, by all means, and we can celebrate those. I'm all for celebrating. And I'm for the new, the shiny and the fresh. Are you?
