What I'm like?

Well, I'm independent (financially and emotionally), energetic, curious about everything and passionate about several things. I hold my friends in high esteem and think that honour is a much underrated virtue. In a slightly dishevelled Humphrey Bogart type of way.

I work long hours, so I like to make the most of my free time, whether that be lazing around in bed or getting into new stuff. I'm mostly a high culture type (galleries, great literature, art house movies), with a streak of low culture running through.

Musically eclectic I like everything from Bach cello suites to the Beach Boys but could do with some tutoring in classical elements. I loathe R&B. I prefer energy and ritual in music: if you know who Rachid Taha is, I suggest we abscond for the entire summer and party. Although this might have to be curtailed due to our respective domestic and professional arrangements.

Prone to taking good holidays and long weekends to escape the relentless work ethic and happy travelling alone or with friends. Adore Europe and think the USA is merely a place to change planes en route to Central and South America.

Have a thing about the sea, love swimming outdoors, learned to scuba dive and learned to surf. Far prefer the latter to the former and probably at my happiest in the Pacific or the Med.

I do have opinions - forthright ones - and I prefer to be challenged intellectually and emotionally. I have a long list of likes and dislikes, however I am completely undogmatic, profoundly curious and wilfully anti-conservative.

Probably not 'bubbly' or 'easygoing', although I can be surprisingly nice. Do like to keep this in reserve. The maths: 5'8 and 12'13. (Who says women don't disclose their weight or age)

For those not mathmatically inclined, that's an Amazon not a waif and a 5'8 woman in heels is at least 5'11 in a real life encounter. And I do wear heels. But barefoot at home, the beach, the Med and yoga.

Apparently I'm tall, striking, elegant, warm, gutsy, with endless energy and - my personal favourite - 'I rock'.

But you can always find out for yourself and tell me theyre the wrong adjectives. And you really need to know what an adjective is.

What am I looking for?

I'm looking for someone who knows their own mind, has a strong opinion about something other than football and who is very comfortable with who they are and what they want morally, professionally and personally. That person may be male or female, I don't like to be restricted by gender.

I like the 'uncommon', I like to be surprised. I particularly like charm, wit and irony. For the dyslexic among you, thats very definitely 'irony', not 'ironing'.

Looking for someone who is in London once a week, once a fortnight, once a month or who can meet up in various (attractive/warm) European cities. Distance and absence are not issues for me, I enjoy my own time and space.

I'd like someone who knows to open doors (if male), can pick a good movie, reads good books, can talk a good game and can pick a good wine.

I'm not a good choice for bored and straying husbands looking for something easygoing and comfortable. I am a good choice if you want to do something new, different or daring and want some company on the journey. But that's a two-way street.

I'm not looking for meaningless casual sex and I'm not looking for a pen pal or endless 'chat' sessions. I prefer the real to the virtual. I view virtual kissng as lazy, promiscuous and cheap. If you want to talk to me, send me a message, I will reply. Courtesy is important to me.

I am looking to take a lover. And that's much more about emotional and intellectual connection than it is about you (or I) looking good in a suit.
