About Me:

I've recently moved to North Yorkshire, found plenty to interest me and help look after my daughter's baby. I'm married, but sadly my husband has always been more interested in model railways!

I read about this site in an article by Karen Marley, and wondered if it could be for me. I would love to meet an interesting man for company, conversation and maybe take the friendship further? In fact, since my husband took early retirement at the age of 50, I'd really like to enjoy a conversation with a man who'd talk about his career and interests - and treat me nicely!

I was originally trained as a nurse, but have worked at all kinds of jobs that fitted in with the family as well.. estate agent, Cathedral welcomer, Blue Cross volunteer, a little acting and modelling.

I was born in South London and still feel nostalgic for my home town. I was privately educated at Christ's Hospital and trained as a nurse at St Georges.

I'm 59, but it's true, a very young 59! I'm told I'm pretty, with short dark hair. I love to laugh. Recently, I took a pre-Olympic Challenge offered by a local Running Club and trained to run 10k! I'm not usually athletic (although I used to be a good tennis player)but really loved the physical challenge of doing something that seemed impossible for me. As a choirmaster's daughter, I was brought up to sing Church music and recently felt drawn back to the local church choir. I love singing again.

Things I love! All the usual female things - scent,shoes,stockings, pretty lingerie. I read anything! (Anything that doesn't involve railways!) History, good fiction (David Lodge my favourite contemporary writer I think at the moment) the Brontes, Dickens, adore Nancy Mitford and EF Benson,laugh at PG Wodehouse, Sue Townsend,Posy Simmonds cartoons. Fashion history is fascinating... could go on and on. I love books! I enjoy interesting churches,exploring cities, and would enjoy shopping, given the chance...!

I'm told I'm entertaining and interesting company, and have a warm personality and "good communication skills". I'm small and slim - and running has made me fit!I'm 5'3". Clothing style? I like tailored things, little jackets - oh, it's hard to say. Elegant but a bit quirky, maybe. And now I look longingly at exciting running clothes!

Ideal Partner:

I'm hoping to meet somebody with a similar warm generous personality. Discretion is important to me, honesty, niceness, interesting career. It's very hard to say. I'd like to meet somebody who doesn't live too far away. I would never, never attempt to disrupt a marriage, but maybe add a certain something to somebody else's life, and some interest and liveliness to mine, as my own marriage hasn't turned out as I hoped.
