Apparently I need to write as much detail as possible to increase my chances of attracting an interesting person to respond. However within minutes of signing up I have a multitude of 'virtual kisses' and several messages..I'm guessing it's easier for women to get a response on this site.

Curious to know if this site is for real??

Intelligent/political/analytical/humourous conversation on offer. And that is it. Take it or leave it. (I'm assuming members are looking for something more here - and that is OK; each to their own, but please don't send me messages offering anything else, as I'd hate to waste your time and mislead you).

I am born and bred Australian, and interested in politics and people and cultures. Although I read a great deal and enjoy debate, I am not an academic, so speak in 'real terms'.

My career history is mainly in film and theatre. I am passionate about cinema and the arts, and particularly adore UK movies made during the Thatcher years; French cinema (some); and recently watching a lot of Scandanavian films. Australian films are also favourites (except those that make us look stupid).

Love music; usually need a 'guitar sound' in it but like any genre done well. I don't think I know any 'ugly' women.

Clothing style? What's that?

A good conversationalist for conversations. Only. Initially went to this site as read an article on Times Online and went to address to see if it really existed. Got sidetracked and 'surfed' it...

I am not really the 'virtual kiss' type. Naff. No offense.
