Back after a long long break - and bad timing I'm afraid given COVID!

I guess I'd describe myself as intelligent, professional, educated (ex-Oxbridge), apparently good-looking guy who is seeking a similarly naughty person for sensual stimulation at both the cerebral and physical level. I'm told I look young for my age, but you can be the judge of that. I'd describe myself as allegedly well groomed, articulate, intelligent, witty, well read, fairly interesting, tactile and adventurous. I'm outdoorsy and have travelled extensively, living and spending time on several continents. An equal fan of both intellectual and physical pursuits. Hobbies include reading, martial arts, field sports, wine and art.

Everything at home is just fine, apart from that sensual spark. I guess I'd like to be able to let my hair down with a discreet, cultured, educated, adventurous, outgoing and intelligent lady, preferably with a naughty (or even downright filthy!!!) streak! I confess to a weakness for good erotica (i.e. Anais Nin; Nancy Friday) and have even penned a few short stories myself. However, dinner table discussions have surmised that I'm 'definitely not the kind of person to have, or even consider, an affair'. On that basis my friends are either all rather gullible or else I'm viewed as being someone with a fair amount of integrity. Whilst the latter is clearly limited by the fact that I've a profile on here, I'm hoping that in other respects I still 'play with a straight bat' as it were! Downside feedback on me from this site includes that I 'sound posh', and that I sometimes (inadvertently) descend into unnecessary (unintentional) frivolousness. I've also been told that my profile is too long.

I'm six foot, with grey eyes and light brown hair. I'm a sapiosexual, and fun chap equally at home in the town or countryside. Kindness, intelligence and humour are all under-rated in my view. I keep myself in reasonably good shape, although enjoy a drink in a country pub or lively bar. I have broad shoulders (I used to row) and (I'm told) a nice bum. I'm clean shaven, but sometimes have a short beard/ stubble. I'm rather OCD in terms of cleanliness, but always dress smartly and smell nice.

Ideal Partner:

Looking for someone who's intelligent, cultured, can hold a good conversation, and is looking for someone with whom to have fun and relax. Essentially a very good 'friend with benefits' (a bit of a corny term, I know!) to whom I can also have an emotional attachment (which is important). Preferably you'll like literature, the arts, travel, good food and wine too, and live somewhere near the capital. I live equidistant between Marlborough, Salisbury and Winchester, although work in Oxford and London (and occasionally Cambridge too!) - so I guess the M4/ M40 corridors also work very well for me. Hopefully you'll be bright, thoughtful, and a little bit naughty (I can be extremely naughty under the right circumstances). Probably worth reiterating that I'm looking for ONE person only - I'm not looking for another partner (I have one of those already), but rather someone who is friend and lover, to spend time with and be able to be 'me' (versus father, husband etc...). Initially I guess I'm just looking for a companiable drink/ lunch/ dinner - with absolutely no strings attached. If things progress that's great - but if not I want to at least be able to say that I spent a fun time with someone who was interesting and with whom I at least had a laugh. Life's too short to waste on unenjoyable 'sex centric' job interviews! What happens afterwards obviously depends on whether we click - although if we do hopefully things may take a somewhat more 'sex centric' turn. Looks alone (versus appearance, which incorporates other factors such as grooming) are not important to me - it's usually the preserve of the more shallow minded. Charm and wit on the other hand.....

Oh, and I'll want to talk on the 'phone prior to meeting - once bitten twice shy - after PROTRACTED e-mail and text communication with a seemingly attractive lady imagine my surprise when, to paraphrase a Lou Reed song, SHE was a HE. Whilst 'Why?' is a good response, I think there were a whole range of bigger questions that needed to be addressed ... don't you just love this game? (Please note - I've had some odder experiences on here - but this one should be thankfully addressable....). Similarly, please be honest about your age - whilst a look of surprise/ shock on my face can sometimes be a good thing (he says with a naughty smile), it's probably not a good way to start a date. Most importantly please please also 'be yourself' - not a fantastical creation.....Walter Mitty's sister isn't really my thing! And oh yes - not a million miles away from me would be great!!

Geographically anywhere between Salisbury/ Marlborough/ Romsey Winchester would be good, but then again I spend two or three days in London each week, and typically a few in Oxford too.
