I've said I'm articulate but I wish I could express adequately what I'm looking for. Not glamour - attraction based solely on that doesn't last. Not just sexual magnetism - wonderful fun, but only sustaining without everything else for a very short while. No, I want the world - someone who takes my breath away when they walk in the room. Someone whose conversations and opinions make me hang on their every word (but enjoys the debate when I challenge what they say). Someone whose company is so special that I'm happy just to sit in companionable silence reading a book or whatever. Not much to ask, is it?

I recently put all sorts of things on here about considerate behaviour - selfish, arrogant and boorish behaviour seems endemic here amongst some subscribers. Aren't there some seriously odd people on here?!!! Anyway, suffice it to say, please treat me with the respect and consideration I will try my utmost to show you - whether or not we click.

Oh - and no VKs please, I won't respond. If you can't be bothered to think of anything original to say to me, I'm obviously not that interesting. Sorry - fussy aren't I? But then, I'm sure you are too and why not!

General

OK - you need to change this every now and then and now the dreaded 60th birthday has passed, I think I need to update. Bottom line? I refuse to be 60. I think I'll settle on being 30 - then I was solvent, happy in my skin, and with a bit of confidence. All I'll add is 30 years more of experience - which I'm happy to share! But that hasn't changed that I love rock and roll (OK - and Opera and Musicals as well), I love a dinner party with passionate debates about our crap political system (or whatever - pour me a glass of wine and argue with me, I love it and the subject couldn't really matter less), I hate nightclubs (always did) and I need, at the end of the evening, to go home with the woman who will tell me I've been an argumentative tw** (see dinner party above), give me a huge kiss and cuddle and make mad, passionate love to me.

Who am I? Difficult for me to define. Public school, 20+ years as a serving officer in the military and then a successful career in business, ending up on the Board of a UK PLC and then VP in a company in the Middle East - culture shock! On the way, had a bit of a hand in building a wonderful family with two grown-up and talented kids who are now my best friends - and the most important things in my life (together with the new grand-daughter, of course!).

Oh - and, as I said, I now work in the Middle East. Given huge bollockings on here from various ladies because a relationship at 3000 miles removed couldn't possibly work. Why not - there are some practical difficulties but I don't think they're insurmountable - but that's up to you! xx

My Appearance

Battle scarred but unbowed. There's a bit more of me than the doctors would like but it's not gross and I'm getting there in the gym - hate it, though. Can't pretend there's a post exercise high - just an overwhelming desire for a glass of wine and a sit down!! But at least I keep going. Like to present myself well but I'm more of a brogues and Barbour jumper man than jeans - not here, though, but you get the sartorial drift, I'm sure. Follicly challenged (ie balding) - there is a natural sunroof but still a significant covering.
