Ok, so how do I make myself different to everyone else on here?? Average looking chap, albeit wearing well for the years, kind to children and animals, seeks likeminded lady to 'see where it goes' isn't going to get me very far.

Lets start by ruling out ladies for whom I'm probably not right! If any of these float your boat, probably move along please:
- You like virtual presents, cartoon kisses etc
- You think txt msg is gr8 and grammar/literacy are less important these days (!)
- You take yourself (and me) seriously
- Your ideal first date is a noisy club
- You want a pic on first message (god forbid an anatomical one)

Hello then; I've done this once before so know the ropes, and know it can work really well. I'm told I scrub up reasonably well, and spend time outdoors when I can so am still reasonably fit (no marathons though). Work for myself so lots of flexibility timewise and for travelling, both into London and anywhere else within reason. I grew up in the smoke, but am a country convert at heart now - Cities are for doing things in (food, theatre, hotel bedrooms, not living in).

I'd be lying if I said sex wasn't part of what I am missing/looking for, but really I hope to find someone to share stupidity, laughter and a few new experiences with as much as anything, and often just talk. That could be a tough balancing act if, like me, you don't want to upset your existing relationship, so hopefully you have thought about this as I have and know what you want.

If all that sounds a bit deep, the top priority is do we make each other laugh? - after that, anything is possible.

Ideal Partner:

I don’t really have a ‘type’, although as I’m 5’8” and from Essex, and so neither tall nor dark (handsome is anyone’s guess) taller ladies are probably out. Mind you I’m taller than Tom Cruise (unless he’s standing on his wallet), and you wouldn’t say no to him I’ll bet…
Slim/Average/a little curvy are all fine 😉; I don’t care about your hair (as long as you have some), or eyes (ditto), but I would like to meet someone who likes the outdoors and is as happy on a windy hillside or in a country pub as a Soho wine bar.
However, at the risk of being a cliché, its all about chemistry, which no-one can predict. Laughter and enjoying the absurd things in life (like the fact that I have typed this and you are reading it?) is a really good start though.
