Hello. For some years now I have been a live-in carer for an elderly relative - and I also work part-time from home.
Their needs come first which means that committing to a new relationship just hasn't been practical - and the last time I was actually in a relationship was six years ago.
Covid and the attendant restrictions certainly haven't helped in terms of isolation.
But things have opened up again, many people are double vaccinated, although safety remains a concern.
I did try Tinder which had its moments, from several sociable afternoons to one back-to-mine encounter but that was pre-pandemic. And a feature of middle-aged dating is that people sometimes stay in touch as friends even though the sexual aspect was a one-off.
