About Me:

I would describe myself as an easy-going, fun-loving and educated professional who works harder than he should but knows how to have a good time.

Married to another hard-working professional with two children away at university I have a stable family life but also the opportunity to enjoy the finer, wilder side of life.

More of a thinker than a doer, I like music, theater, art, literature and travel. A dedicated beach bum I am happiest lounging in the sun with a good book or magazine in one hand and an ice-cold drink in the other.

A keen chef, I enjoy food and drink. I'm a good cook and I know my wines without being snobbish about it. I am also a fiendish mixer and slightly more moderated drinker of cocktails.

Having once been a competent musician, I am a dedicated music lover and listen regularly to an eclectic mix of styles, from classical through jazz to house and techno, depending on the mood. I have been known to dance occasionally and have certainly been seen at concerts and festivals more regularly

I am well-travelled, having lived and worked abroad for several years in my younger days. I speak French fluently, Spanish reasonably well, and can get by in Greek and Chinese.

Socially confident without being brash I find conversation easy. I don't take myself too seriously and am quick to see the funny side of any situation.

I am 6' (183cm) tall with a muscular build, a 34" (86cm) waist and a 44" (112cm) chest. I consider myself to be reasonable handsome even when wearing my glasses. Having sadly thinned on top, I keep my hair closely clipped and am usually clean-shaven. Rarely needing to dress formally I would say that I am stylishly casual in my appearance.

Ideal Partner:

There's no simple template for the partner, companion or comrade I am looking for. But a few things spring to mind.

I guess I am looking for someone who is smart rather than necessarily academically intelligent, someone who has lived a little and wants to carry on doing so, someone who is instinctively interested in things, someone who is upbeat, outgoing and engaging.

As I'm a rule-breaker rather than a rule-taker I'm looking for a free spirit and a rebel rather than a conformist, someone who is excited not scared by risk and adventure.

Beauty is always in the eye of the beholder, and affection can work wonders on perception, but it certainly helps. Shape is certainly more important than size.

What is most important is that physical self-awarenes and a sense of easy-going sexual confidence makes it irrelevant.

What am I looking for in a relationship? Well, first and foremost, fun and friendship, shared experiences and companionship. I am looking for the openly clandestine, an adventure, but also something mutually enhancing and lasting.

My life is already quite full-on and what free time I have I prefer to use wisely. If you are looking for a full-time partner I am not your man. If you are looking for someone who is prepared to take his time, who is willing to invest in a relationship, then I am. If you are looking for someone who is thoughtful, kind and considerate then you have definitely come to the right place. If you are looking for flattery and flirtation then, well, you have hit the jackpot!

And finally a confession. Although new to this site I have strayed before. A long-term special relationship could not last. That final commitment and the cost to those close to me was just too much. We remain close as 'mejores amigos'.

I guess that's we I'm here: looking for something more, and something less...
