About Me:

I wonder how many of us have felt a slight trepidation at writing this “About Me” section. The unfamiliarity with being on this site, having to write a profile and introducing yourself in a short precis format feels extraordinarily alien. Conscious that the reader of this will have seen many other profiles, you may just be skimming the profile, so I will get to the point.

I’ll start by saying that I’m a cosmopolitan soul. The roots are Brit-Asian but my origin and history are a global story. The outlook is one that goes beyond these shores. Interests in travel, concocting culinary delights, reading, and an active sportsman where I play a team game every week. Cultures, cuisines, good food and wine are imperative – I’m a regular baker, cook and kitchen disciple, with a recent curiosity for more sustainable delicacies and solutions. That probably indicates my politics, a liberal outlook, open to many points of view but I enjoy cultivated conversations, exploring the rights and wrongs of humanity but grounded in daily life rather than anything too lofty. London appreciating too, the belly of the city and its secret bars, restaurants, parks, and urban retreats hold fascination, though I adore the countryside or beach lifestyle too (the call of the sea seems never too far away!). I’ve been successful at work, spent years in a jet set corporate lifestyle but now in the world of social giving and philanthropic pursuits, working for charities and organisations that do not focus on profit.

In terms of looks, I would say it’s a salt and pepper look of a man on the cusp of 50’s. Height seems to be key here, I’m average height, dark and handsome apparently! The comment came many years ago from a lady that said the eyes were deep and I had a dashing disposition. I can only assume she was suffering from delirium or intoxication!

Ideal Partner:

Ideal partner? To that question I have no prefixed answer, although I will fathom a guess as to what might match. If I am honest, it is often the case that the best matches might not seem ideal in the first instance. It is why I will try to be open-minded and willing to inspect any character.

In fact character is where it should start. Usually a warm natured smiling soul is most likely to appeal. Someone that laughs easily, that generates an aura of happiness and that is likely to giggle uncontrollably when together. Face cracking, belly aching laughter. Weirdly for these strange surrounds, values matter, family, friendship and something deeper. A rhythm or a chemistry beneath the surface that is caring and values either the people and the planet that we live on.

Physical appearance holds no real requirements apart from a smile. Beauty has such a range, all shapes and sizes, slim and curves, short or tall, it doesn't matter. What does matter is long-term, sustained connection. Trustworthy too, I recognise that it takes a lot to invest in a long-term affair, but empathy and understanding on both sides appreciated.
