How can I improve my chances of success?
Be patient, it takes time to find someone special through an internet site, like anywhere else for that matter. Using a website to meet others requires practice and commitment like anything else worth doing. Sometimes you need to chat to and meet quite a few people first. Unfortunately, that's the world we live in. Take your time to complete your profile, remember, it is your advertisement for yourself! Be sure to check out our own members' tips on what works in a profile, and what doesn't. Take your time to chat with many different people, and take your time to get to know someone well. Socialise and chat frequently and soon enough we truly believe you will be pleasantly surprised.

Start by sending a number of mails out – cast your net far and wide. Don't just focus on the women who are online often, they will certainly be getting plenty of attention already – so mail some women who haven't been online for a while (they appear last in the searches)

If you have received very little response from your mails take another look at what you are sending . Would those messages make YOU want to reply if you had a large selection of males/mails to choose from? Perhaps a change in approach is needed.

Be sure to use a catchy subject line to entice them to open it. 'Hi' almost pre-empts the receiver to think you haven't even read their profile.

Women are unlikely to check out your profile simply because you've asked them to or respond to you purely because you have given them your photos password. Get their attention with something personal to them to show them it's not a 'copy and paste' message (so many men don't realise the '>' marks give it away) - and make it endearing, light-hearted and most of all make them smile.

Never start with sex. Have a quick read of the 'Ideal Partner' section of a number of women's profiles. You should see that they are looking for a sense of humour and a relationship of sorts – none have listed explicit sexual requests or preferences in their profiles. Steer clear of sex as a topic whilst on our site.

Mail tends to get a much better response than chat. Many women will not chat unless you have 'proven' yourself through an email conversation first.

Be honest! Certainly use your discretion on what you think is appropriate to reveal at which stage, but outright lying will get you nowhere as you will be found out sooner rather than later and will most definitely lose any chances of a relationship at the same time.
