Affairs can be fairytales too

All the books and movies about happily ever afters - soooo glamorised.

Come on Cinderella, the balls over, nobody found your shoe. I've had more chemistry, love and adventure in an affair - which brings me to the bold statement - affairs can be fairytales too.

I agree I’ve been to some amazing places on this journey.. Places I’ve had 0 chances of going to with hubby..

Only thing near fairytale is amount of frogs I’ve met… 🤪. 🐸 💋 🤴

Has anyone seen the film Same Time Next Year? two married strangers meet by chance in a '50's American motel, they wake up next morning side by side in bed and agree to meet on the same weekend each year, this goes on for 23 years and they support each other through the trials and tribulations of real life back home. It's a great portrayal of the positive aspects of an affair. Think it might have had an influence on me!!!! and so here I am looking.

I had a fairytale affair.

We met and travelled together regularly for almost a year. It was very romantic, sexy, and we both experienced incredible excitement during our time together. Sadly, my job changed and our time ended.

I’d love to find someone to have another adventure with.

Exactly ... her books were pure escapism and fantasy but oh so wonderful to read as an innocent teenager ... 😌

@Exoticorchid you couldn't beat a Babs Cartland novel...when the heroines were blushing virgins, ,fluttering their eyelashes as the handsome hero (who only had eyes for them) swept them off their feet to a utopian life of happy ever after. Now that's an utter fairytale as it would never happen 😃 😜 X

Storybook endings, fairytales come in twos,
Deep down inside we all want to believe they still do.
In our secretest heart, it's our favourite part of the story,
let's just admit that we all want to make it to..........ever ever after!

Well in my experience the prince disappears and leaves me wondering where he went! just as I am getting to know him, he disappears in a puff of smoke like the genie. So no I wouldnt say an affair is a fairytale, would love to be proven wrong though given the chance.

Affairs are incredibly romanticised relationships and long may this be. As a romantic man, I consider each affair that I have as similar to Tennyson's "The Lady of Shalott". The Lady, my love, you as Elaine of Astolat ..... The Knight, myself in love with you as Lancelot musing "She has a lovely face; God in his mercy lend her grace, The Lady of Shalott." Affairs are the wonder of woman and man in love, regardless. Let them always be enchanted Fairytales xxx Mike
